I dont know how to play Drums but I'm a music Teacher. There is drum set in school. I dont have any idea. But Guys this is the best video to assemble your drums. i watched other videos also but this one is best. And soon I'm gonna take Drum Class. If there would be subtitle on the screen it would be more better. Thank you 🙏💓! Love From Nepal 🇳🇵
Thanks for that - the Yamaha guy thought explaining what metals the hardware is made from rather than the actual setting up of components would be more useful. 🙄
Awesome video! I might get a Yamaha Stage Custom drum set and drum hardware package in the future for live performances when I go on tour with my band The Sky’s A Limit. For the toms, I might use Remo Emperor Coated or Evans UV2’s, for the bass drum, maybe a Remo Powerstroke 3 or an Aquarian Response 2. For the matching snare drum, maybe I will use an Evans Heavyweight Dry. This is gonna be great for styles like metal, hard rock, jazz and R&B.
Thank you so much! Just purchased the kit and came across your tutorial. I didn't even have to refer to the manual. Super easy guide & highly recommended! 👌💯
Wrong. The way you set up a kit is this: angle the bass drum to the right a bit, put your toms in front of the snare drum, and put your ride cymbal over the bass drum. This is the way to ergonomically set up your kit, and it’s the best way to do it.
At 10 I built a trap kit out of dump materials. At 13 I bought a set and miracle upon miracle I figured it out in about 10 minutes. Never knew I was brilliant till just now, 58 years later.
My question is to confirm if my Teacher is conducting the classes at the right pace or is he going slow intentionally. So, it's been 4 months that i have taken the classes (1 class per week) and am still on the Snare Drum only, currently am being thought lessons from a book called "Alfreds snare drum" , is it normal to still be thought only snare drum after 4 months?
Hi there. You will find that every teacher has their own approach. Some start with snare drum, some with rudiments - and some (like me) get you started on the drum set first. There is no right or wrong. With that said, if you really want to play drum set, I would mention it to your teacher. Most good teachers will compromise. I hope this helps!
@@drumambition thank you so much for your reply..am in a confusion on whether my teacher is aligned to what i want to achieve, i basically want to play the drum set, in my first discussion with him he had told me that i should be able to play a song in 6 months time, but so far I've only explored the snare drum basically just two limbs too..How long does it take to play some basic songs on a drum set, i want to make sure i set right expectations for myself and my teacher
@@kurtozzzmaddy Honestly - if you follow our program, you'll be there very quickly. This article explains how. www.drumambition.com/how-do-i/learn-the-drums-quickly I do advise you to talk with your teacher, though, and give them an opportunity to change their approach. Thanks!
Hello. If you want to protect your ears from acoustic impact, I recommend that you use a piece of cotton. Put it in such a way that you have your hearing protected, but at the same time, that it lets you hear. Thank you
Great video! I would love to check out your other video highlighting drum ergonomics, how to setup your kit but i can't find the video of the title you mentioned. Is it still up on youtube? Link if possible, thanks a million. Keep up the great work.
I would like to caution new bees 🐝. Be careful finger tightening the lug bolts by turning the bolt holding the threads with your fingers. The edges of them are sometimes pretty sharp and can slice your fingers. Like little paper cuts. If your hands and fingers are pretty hardened or calloused you may not experience any difficulties. But just be aware how tight you’re grasping them so you don’t cut yourself. 😇😇😇😍
Agreed - very important. We give a short introduction to playing with a metronome at the end of the video, and then build upon this skill in subsequent videos.
