On my 763, there was a line in the open (in the front) When I pulled it out, it looked just like the tube you have there with no filter. I blew through it and it was clear. Turns out, the pick up tube was actually behind it right under the engine block. There appears to be no way of removing it without pulling the engine.😢
Mine was pinched between oil pan and top of plastic fuel tank . Just abandon old lines install new ones from pickup tube to fuel pump then a return line back to tank . I got mine out fixed kinked fuel line . But I have abandoned old lines on other machines
We are using them for a few years on mountain property we own to maintain roads. Soon economy will tank like 2008 and equipment will go cheap again.. Be patient and score at auction repo stuff .
Hey there! Thanks for the video. This is the only one I could find on these 403 engines. Mine has a very faint tapping sound, like if you tapped 2 marbles together. It's not constant, it comes and goes, but varies with RPM. I did the valve lash adjustment, but no change. It's kind of difficult for me to pinpoint the exact location of the sound, since it is attached to a generator on a sound padded cabinet, but I think it comes from the lower front of the engine. But then, maybe the sound has always been there and I just happen to pay attention to it now... Since you already torn it down, does it use hydraulic valve lifters? Are they roller or flat tappet? I sent an oil sample for analysis to see if it is bearing related, which I highly doubt, but still waiting on the results. What do you think?
Solid lifters . Also these are used in CAT mini excavator also. Very common. Oil pump in front cover a week spot Japanese Shiburara? made for Perkins . All diesel engine have clack sound from fuel ignite .I have Deutz new engine sounds like hammers hitting block in a JLG man lift . It's normal .. 😂 Also loosen one injector at a time to kill that cylinder while noise occurs to see if it's one specific cylinder responsible. There are a bunch of videos on RU-vid on this engine. Hello. I have a new to me L781. Having troubles with my drive system. The right side is strong in forward and reverse. Left side is weak. Neutralizer has been replaced on left side. Also very loose from neutralizer to servo attachment. If I tightened everything down it has a shimmy or jerking back and forth and wants to creep. I'm not sure if it's a neutralize problem or a servo problem. Oil is clean. Big screen filter is clean.
Make sure servo actuator link on left pump travel is equal to right side pump distance rotated should be equal That lever on pump moves swash plate in pump for forward reverse flow to drive motors . The small pump on end is charge pump should send 400 psi +- to both drive pumps . It also supplies 3000psi to bucket boom aux hydraulic s. How many hours on machine? I have 6000 on mine still perfect. I run 10w30 motor oil in hydraulic fluid as factory specifies. My machine creeps on right side Actuators bushings loose . Use park brake always or it will take off . Put machine up on blocks tires off then set both actuators and pump levers to match each side. Skid steer forum site has excellent info. Yes i got one. But the it doesnt interface with Deutz or CAT engines. I have CAT ET which only does 75% . You have to pay dealer to scan repair newer equipment. They charged me $1000 just to come scan a newer CAT 308 excavator . No repair just scan. This is common now and should be illegal. Right to repair act .

I welded a new style quick attach plate onto original . Now all attachments after 1998 all fit. I got this hammer used for$1500. Just rebuilt it all seals and diaphram shot. A Kent model 3 . They are expensive $10-15k new. Ritchie brother has at auction s . But you cant test them.

that was from united rentals. Fuel filters and grease motor oil and filters turntable grease, planetary hub oil and dry lube boom telescope slide areas. Not much else to do. Keep an eye on hoses wires in cable tray on side if boom. Also check tension on cables inside boom grease pulleys in there. JLG ,Genie both good made in USA .. Good luck

There is very little info on the L785 online. Anyone know when the computer is throwing a solenoid code which one it is? We can't get our skid to turn over and this is the code. TIA
There is no computer on mine it's a 1994. Check all safety interlock switches then jump solenoid on starter direct. Caution machine does not move and hurt mechanic .
@@MitzvosGolem1 computer is a loose term, haha! We have little indicator lights to the right of the seat about at elbow level, give or take. We never would've found them because their underneath a box thing that we call the "computer". Unless you stick your hand under them you wouldn't know they are there. Ours is similar to yours in age we guess late 80's early 90's.
@@cambriacrabtree7949 That is a indicator light bar for oil pressure overheat and alternator charge. Check power to key switch overhead first. There are relays in by engine towards front also and a circuit breakers. These are easy to repair unlike my new CAT 289 ecm high tech stuff. There are Electric schematic online . I downloaded one ..look on images on Google .
In bottom of chain cases lowest part in four places below wheel axel are four drain plugs. You can also loosen side plates which cover drive chains between tires square plates . Best to clean out entire sumps and check chains gears and bearings . Water came in my machine from top plates on drive chain cases on both sides. Seal up with permetex silicone when done. Enjoy the mess...lol 🤣

Had a question regarding a 2007 JLG600a CAT engine Sn 0300113571 I just got it and I'm having an issue with engine malfunction light flashing three times on platform. It doesn't seem to affect any of the operation but don't want to risk damage. Also, I did just order the analyzer should be in soon. Additional question what type of coolant should I use?
The led in lower box flashes a morse code as a trouble code number. Which symbol is it ? I use good quality antifreeze and distilled water only. Code reader does nor read CAT (perkins ) motor. Check the crank sensor on rear bell housing for metal chips on magnet cause of mine going haywire. Shalom
@@MitzvosGolem1 thanks for the reply! It's the engine symbol on the platform display(bottom middle symbol). The engine runs smoothly it doesn't have the issues that yours did with throttling but should the engine rev up when you are using functions? Like when you increase the function speed at the platform and then use a function should it rev up a little? Mine just stays at an even speed without revving.
@@dhag1745 Engine symbol means are "low oil pressure, Overheating set that lamp typically. Check connection s on sending units for engine oil pressure and temperature for broken wires or corrosion etc. All JLG manuals online for free.
