Just look at the weather for D-Day, gales, rain, poor visibility etc. It had to be postponed from June 5th to the 6th because the weather was so bad. This is reassuringly similar!
I'm sure I heard that we had the warmest day in May EVER... I didn't catch which day they said it was... albeit I'm with you as no part of May seemed to hit my body as overly 🥵
This year and for a while, all of the models tend to be unreliable after about 3 days. Only thing one can say is there's a tendency for northerly winds and anticipated highs tend to get squeezed out by lows. UK is a magnet for lows!
