I didn't see any flaps after the impossible turn to slow down his emergency approach.

Kind of reminded me of the type of turn you would do if you flew up a dead end canyon. He had plenty of space, no canyon walls to deal with at least. Definitely a hot fast landing. Live to fly another day.

I like the plane. Does it require a PPL?

It’s no stronger than any other rag and tube airplane. It was only doing 20-30 mph when it hit the obstacle.

The AUSTER IS A GOOD AEROPLANE. sAD TO SAY THERE ARE TO MANY PILOTS OUT THERE THAT CAN'T FLY AUSTERS.
