That was a fairly sedate start but still quite a good bark. You want to hear a Castle start when it's really given some steam. The exhaust is not so much "bold" as "explosive" and actually hurts your ears. Probably the loudest type on BR. I'm 80, BTW, and have seen it for real many times.
How fortunate you Brits are to have your Heritage Railways. USA here. Old timer here, still ticking. Would love to ride them someday. Can close me eyes and see and old British mystery movie.

@@1Goldsteam Absolutely. I grew up a little to the south of Tyseley as steam ended. I remember Clun and a few others arriving for preservation in the early 70's. Spent many happy open days there. Worked at Tyseley shed and carriage sidings 78-81, so saw her and companions often.
Thats very kind Jeff. Away for 11 days I didnt take a full DSLR, just the mobile and a pocket Camera to record what is a wonderful experience. Great memories as you say, all the best to you and yours.

I enjoyed that Alan, you made an interesting record of the journey. the food looked excellent. Liked the shot of the 'Daniel Adamson' at Frodsham as I could hear the whistles being exchanged from my position. Had a cruise on her a few weeks ago as part of my 70th, birthday celebrations, can well recommend it.

Despite my use of lower quality equipment due to being away 11 days for the trip, its something to look back on for myself and a few of the passengers (its part of 5 compilations covering 9 days). The food for only first class was more than we expected to. Also great to read you had a good cruise on the boat too, I can Imagine it was a bit special.
