Yeah here I am, an European guy considering doing the LT but being lectured about social issues. I hike to get away from all that and it's exhausting how you shove this stuff into our faces. Guess I'll hike the ECT in Newfoundland!
I have hiked it twice and I can guarantee you that no one will talk about social issues on the LT. It’s actually a very cool trail the people are wonderful. It’s an ass kicking trail for sure, it’s much more difficult than many people are prepared for or expect. There is no switch back so all the climbs are straight up and straight down. If you do decide to do the trail I would hike it in September into early October. Take care
Good feeling watching this family keep a Tradition Alive and produce such a good tasting Syrup. Some additional information would have made this video more interesting like how long does it usually take to boil off the water and to get to a good quality syrup. I also love Maple Sugar Candy, such a delicate sweet taste. Do some syrup makers ship out to other Countries to sell their syrup. Only the Northeastern area of the US has the Select Maple trees that produce the correct Sap to turn to Maple Syrup, got California, Texas and Florida beat with this sweet product.

I have seen Bag Balm heal up some absolutely horrible wounds on cows' feet. I mean wounds that if you or I had them we'd be at the emergency room getting stitched up. And you know that's not a great healing environment to be in!
