The part where he said “ keeps us slaves under the masters from the sky “. Who’s he referring to 🫢🫨
@MysteriesofHawaii
@MysteriesofHawaii 5 дней назад
The last few lines of words weaved into the mat have been translated to mean,, “Therefore the people became free under the one law called the Mamalahoa, the giver of the greatest piece in his kingdom, an honor that has come to us from an old kingdom, that of Kamehameha I. Let us rise to study the great cause for the decrease of the Hawaiian people, a large population in the olden days under Kamehameha, and to ask the king to change the taxes on animals, cattle, horses, donkeys, mules, and sheep and let none of them remain. O heavenly one, release us from the burden of the law that keeps us slaves under masters from the sky. By me, Kala‘i.” It was all spelled out in Hawaiian and, as you know, the Hawaiian language was often thick with double meanings. So I personally can't say for sure that I know what Kala'iokamalino meant when she wove her plea into her makaloa mat. It could even be a mistranslation. The people who knew for sure are all long gone now.

@@MysteriesofHawaii thanks for commenting back! You’re right it could be a mistranslation or they could be referring to something interesting and i would love to find out ! I lived on Nuuanu Pali Dr. One night I fell asleep on the living room couch. I woke up and stumbled towards the bedroom. Blocking the bedroom doorway was a giant Hawaiian warrior with the sharks tooth club. He swung at me and I put my arm up to deflect the blow. It went through me and the warrior disappeared. I went to bed totally freaked out. The next day I went to my job building a Chili's restaurant in Pearl City. I was cutting a very long wooden beam with a large chop saw. I had not supported the ends of the cut properly so as I went through the beam it swung towards my face. I stuck out my arm to defend myself and stuck the arm right into the moving blade of a 14" miter saw. Unlike the night before it did not go through me but stopped when it hit bone. Nuuanu is extremely haunted. This was not my only encounter with ghosts there.

Got to visit Niihau in 2010 via the owner's Helicopter, back then we were told the owners keep this helicopter for emergency medical evacuations for the Niihau residents. They raise support to keep the helicopter maintained by allowing silly tourists to take day trips out to the island, you could choose a hunting trip or a scenic trip with beach landing. We picked the beach landing but the pilot also showed us the wildlife from the air, super fun! Got to see plenty of great white sharks, a pig, and plenty of other various mammals kept there for hunting purposes. We did not get to talk to the residents but did see a couple of them, we landed at the beach seen in the video right behind Lehua islet. While I was walking out on the rocky and slippery shore line I slipped and fell right on my okole! The trip was required to have 5 people as I recall, but the other group did not show up so the owners decided we could go anyway, just our little family of four - amazing adventure!! Going home from Kona to Hilo at 1am in the morning right before Pohakuloa, I was the driver along with three of my co-workers. We all seen a red orb on the passenger side of the vehilce about 100 yards travelling the same direction as us. I was doing 50 mph as we passed it then another one appeared in the distance ahead from the passenger side where it went across the road right in front of us about 50 ft away. The red orb was about 8 ft off the ground and was moving at the pace like a human running. It was bright and it lit the ground also. We thought it was a tracer round since we were near a military base but it moved to slow. The four of us were screaming and pointing, it was crazy. We just got off a 20 hr shift so we were fatigued and could've been delusional🤷‍♂️ we also started seeing things in the corner of our eyes at the hotel we were working at so we decided to pau hana then. We were painting the Grand Ballroom at the Waikoloa hotel. Two other guys decided to stay and finish off what they were doing but left as soon as they felt like they were being watched. The area was closed off and we were the only ones allowed there. Even in the day time it was creepy with all the corridors and dim lights. Good times!

I grew up on Maui and one day when I was a teenager, my best friend and I went up into Iao, following the stream pretty far beyond the trail. We stopped for a moment so she could pick flowers, and I kept walking ahead just enjoying the cool air and the smell of the dense forest when suddenly out of nowhere, I got this intense feeling of being watched. I felt eyes on me from every direction. I turned around and told her we should head back. It didn’t feel like a bad energy, it felt more like a stop sign. Like a warning. I will never forget it.

EXCUSE ME, but Kame'eiamoku was the SPEAR BEARER, and Kamanawa was the KAHILI BEARER. I am a lineal descendant of John Green Ulumaheihei Hoapili Kanehoa (1833-1896). My direct forbears repeatedly represented the kahili-bearing twin KAMANAWA at state funerals and other royal events. I don't know why this gaslighting is occurring all over the internet when all the primary source materials I can find prove that the twin who bore the kahili was Kamanawa.
@MysteriesofHawaii
@MysteriesofHawaii 29 дней назад
No need to be excused. This is a different Kamanawa, his father was high chief Kepo'okalani, and this Kamanawa is the grandson of Kame'eiamoku. He was named after his uncle who was the twin of his grandfather. This Kamanawa was sometimes known as Kamanawa 'ōpio or Kamanawa 'elua. Thus, this Kamanawa was the grandfather of King David Kalākaua. This video mentions nothing about the sacred twins and uncles of our makua lani, Kamehameha 'ekahi. It's good to see 'ōpio who have a firm knowledge of their mo'okuauhau. Keep learning.
@Oilstories
@Oilstories 28 дней назад
Mahalo for your answer. So I am confused that the video makes a close up at 1:02 is on Kamanawa with his kahili when at the same time speaking the name of Kame'eiamoku. I agree with you that the royal Hawaiian lineage all descend from the royal twin Kame'eiamoku. He is the spear-bearer.

I would like you to do research at Waihee Valley on Maui. There are lots of haunting in this area. I use to live at 222 Waihee Valley Rd. Now my younger brother Kaniloa Kamaunu lives there. Check other neighbors that live in Waihee Valley Rd for more of haunting stories. The house I was raised has a lot of haunting stories. I am not should my brother and other neighbors will talk to you but there is no harm asking. It’s okay to use my name (Ben Kamaunu). Remember---I was raised there with my mom and other siblings from 1964 to 1985. A lot of the old generation probably passed away. Well ---I always enjoy your haunting stories of Hawaii--Aloha from Kentucky

Aloha Lopaka! So interesting that you had the store I worked in for 15 yrs (to the right of you at .12 time stamp). It was known as the Kahalewai building #14. It was built in (1927), Ninety - Seven yrs ago, and was once the Post Office, Taylor Shop, Watch Shop, and the Ornellas General Store. My X-Boss leased it in the late 90's as a visitor/ Tourist oriented shop. My former Boss told me that the store was once a two story building; (when it was the General Store). When my X- Boss moved in, he had a "Drop-Ceiling" put in to block the upstairs area where the family used to lived that ran the store. I worked at night there mostly, and on many nights, after I closed & locked the doors, I would hear heavy FOOTSTEPS on the old, creaky Wooden Floor. This phenomenon happened SO many times; (always just after I locked the doors, and ONLY when I was ALONE)!!😱 There was nowhere anyone could "hide out" after hours, so I knew this had to be some type of Paranormal occurrence. Another "Haunting" in Koloa happened back about 2010. I met a Tourist on the Bus on his way to " Camp" in Koloa. Theres nowhere to Camp there, and I really do not know where he got the idea. He insisted that he did not want to rent a Motel room. I saw him on the Bus the next day. I asked him if he found anywhere to Camp in Koloa. He said he set up under the Waikomo Stream Bridge; (right there by Crazy Shirts/Sueokas Store). He said he threw his Sleeping Bag down under the Bridge & fell asleep that night. He woke up for some reason to see a dark, shadowy person squatting down a few feet away from him. When he moved, he said it stood up. That was when ( even in the dark, he could tell that this a shadowy figure was NOT a PERSON! He said he spoke to it, and it said nothing. He grabbed his belongings and RAN out of the Waikomo stream area. He said after that, he was going to pay for a Motel, no more camping on Kauai for him!😱 Great video!😊
