We're getting these on our front porch and along the pathway to our house. I put 3 types of snake repellent down and one just sat on top of it.

It turns out that Copperheads eat Cicadas like candy, and if you have them close by in particular trees, it will attract these snakes, especially at night, when they hunt. So, know where your feet are at all times, especially after dark! Copperheads give no warning, are very hard to see even during the day, and when they feel threatened, they are fast to bite, will do so repeatedly, and they are very agile and agressive.

There's no substitute for the mother hen now with that being said I can understand taking some of the babies until she hatches out all of the chicks but then you need to get them back to her .... what I generally do is just have my incubator on standby and I put the rest of the eggs in it to finish hatching if momma decides to get off the nest

Be careful. Glad no one was bitten. You may want to keep some snake boots handy considering the number of copperheads your neighbors have had.

One minute you’re talking “Providence from God” and the next you’re talking about “crossing your fingers”! How screwed up are you? Killing Gods creatures because you don’t approve or because you’re lame enough to do farm work in lo-top Chuck Taylors you do not impress whatsoever. You’re just very confused shallow and ignorant af.

I’m wonder why you chose to use manure for bedding instead of shredded paper, peat or coco coir and wet with molasses water. For awhile I used only nearly finished sifted compost from my red wiggler bins because I didn’t have a paper shredder, but it was difficult to identify the castings from my compost. I bought a shredder and use Anne, from Plant Obsessed, bedding recipe. Wow, my worms were really good before but they are crushing it now with the new bedding. I use frozen and then thawed food scraps and worm chow. I really like the build of the new bin! Thanks!

Great video, super helpful! Is there anyway possible you could slow down the video so we can see more of what you’re doing? I’m trying to duplicate it but I can’t see where you were attaching the zip ties. Thank you so much!

Garden carpet would have been better for lining the bottom of the barrels. The screen still allows the worms to get through. I learned that through experience. Otherwise, great bin.

Do you separate from the rest of the flock when this happens? I have one that I noticed a tiny little red blood spot on her comb. I only knew because I saw two or three small blood spots on a bucket lid. When I looked I still wasn’t even sure, because it’s that small. It’s not even bleeding anymore.

Very informative for anyone setting up their first worm farm. The only difference that I have done, is that I have the ends of the barrels joined together with short pieces of PVV PIPING. By doing this, I only fill one half with manure/vegetables etc. and leave the second half empty. Once the first half is composted down into vermicast, I start filling barrel number two. This entices the worms to move between barrel halves and leaves bin number one free of worms when you are ready to harvest... Just my thoughts. I am also using an old bath in the same manner by halving it with a screen, large enough for the worms to fit through, while feeding just one half....

I'll give you 4👍👍👍👍 up. I'm battling the Coyote problem my self I've put cel. Cameras all around the back 40a. And I have found there hot spot now I'm going to work on taking them out. I figured you would have had some comments blasting you but I don't see anything bad. A few of the folks around me that I have talked to had told me to leave them alone so I told them if I catch any that's still alive I'm going to bring them to their house and turn it loose. Thanks for the good video and keep up the good work.

Good system, thanks for the explanation. One question though, I don't get how any worms that fall through into the liquid in the bottom can get back up into the chamber above. Can they crawl up the smooth plastic plant pot?

Oh the hypocrisy and ignorance here. If all you people complaining about the venomous snake being killed instead of risking a $40k hospital bill trying to relocate it, just send your address and maybe he could bring them to you. Better yet the address of the playground where YOUR kids play.

Great to hear. I just recovered a chicken that was attacked by a fox. (Why is it always our favorites that get nipped?) Luckily my dogs were quick to respond and there were no lung punctures. However, there are multiple areas of torn skin. None very big, smaller than a dime and skin only, but I still questioned if she would be ok. We've lost so many this year, I feel compelled to try to help her if she isn't suffering now and won't through the healing process. Otherwise, I know what must be done (and I'm ok with it if it's the right choice). But for now, I'll take your confidence and see how it goes. Would you suggest any antibiotics or any other treatments?

Thanks for helpful video which is that one of my questions answer. But I got new question after I ve watched :) It could be difficult to take compost from barrel so we have to find a way to get compost easily. Such as, barrel can be quick connection to the frame so we can lay away the compost form barrel and bring it on the frame again to start over production. Thanks again for helped me get new vision.
