Are you using a "Go Pro"??? Wonderful video BTW. I sat the Class 377 Driver test for Southern three times failed on the Lights and Pedals so I guess driving wasnt meant to be for me, had a friend who used to work the Metropolitan line and brother in law worked on the northern line for over 30 years.
Here's an idea for a video that you can do if you're ever bored on a day off and with nothing else better to do (I know, I know: "just stop right there," you're already saying). As a passenger on the route, get off at each stop along the route and film the exterior of each station, maybe add a panoramic view of the surrounding area, maybe also add a brief description. Most people who aren't local won't ever see what's outside the stations, so this would offer a unique view that differs from the typical cab ride. Ok, that's my submission for "worst viewer suggestion ever." Do carry on. 😅
It is some thing I have considered doing. I think it will have to be a job for the summer. Maybe a new series next year covering all the pic line stations
I've genuinely never had a problem with LNER first class. By far the best offering that I;ve come across on a long distance British train. I'd pay it simply to have more space and a less frantic environment, let alone the food, which I consider to be a perk rather than something I'd specifically book for. Added to which unless there's a notable bargain fare available I always use SeatFrog for my first class seats so don't pay the full fare anyway.
I wouldn’t say they are bad. Depending on the price can make it worth the upgrade. Based on that trip and that price I didn’t feel it gave value for money
1:15:12, *and 1:18:33 I was wondering about something related to this, recently. I haven't checked the Comments so someone else may have asked this, but I wanted to know if TfL ever implement timetables based on forecasted weather. If there was something like a storm to come, does TfL have a pre-set "rain timetable" that they give to drivers in advance? Thinking about it now, co-ordinating that sounds difficult to me, because it could coincide with existing rotas.
On the pic line I have never heard of such a thing. If some thing happens they are more likely to just run an emergency timetable. Which means we are just told to take a train ( let’s say100) and run it to say T5 and back.
I am going to watch every video very closely....we arrived on th 3rd of September last year for hols so may be on one of your vids...we were on another you tubers video who my daughter recognized while filming!
That’s really sad to see the quality of food and drink on board.I still remember the days when you’ve got a decent mixed grill and a glass of something half decent.😢
Dale, Hi. The lounge looks nice, the morning sunrise was beautiful, and the view was really nice. The train ride looks worth the price to me. Hoped you had fun.
I didn’t actually mention it. Sorry. I think as an advance it was around half the price. Advance tickets can vary from one train to another. I would imagine the walk up fare would be a lot
I really can't understand the controversy over this video when it comes to watching Dale driving the train. Train Sim World seems to reveal a lot more about the operations of the vehicle than what Dale does here.
Don’t apologise for doing the right thing. Whilst it’s always nice to know how the train works, we don’t need to know. Just being along for the ride is good enough. BTW, was that Down Street lit up whilst you were explaining the issue with the controls video?
Hi Dale hope your well this upcoming Weekend Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th September piccadilly Line no 🔕 🔇 service between South Harrow and Uxbridge can you film 😀 from Cockfosters or Acton Town straight up to South Harrow and why do you know is the Metropolitan planned Closured all weekend ?
As a TfL train operator--or train driver in TfL parlance--you might be quite disappointed if you ride the NYC subway. It's not as clean as the Underground and some stations are quite dilapidated. Just an FYI... Also, as an operator, if you want to get an idea of how the stations are in NYC, try looking for RU-vid videos from "Welcome To An Experience" where the videos appear as if from a camera mounted to the front-most truck--er, bogie as the Brits say--of subway trains!
Forget Peter Pan Bus Lines, take Amtrak instead. The trip from New York Penn Station to Washington Union Station on the Regional takes about 4 hours each way. If you take the faster Acela train, it will take 2 hours each way. And here's the kicker, you can film your trip from NYC to DC while traveling about 110 mph (177 kph).
Absolutely awesome video. Brings back heaps of memories of when i used to travel from Uxbridge to Cockfosters. I have traveled may times from Kings Cross to Baker Street and on to Rickmansworth (Metropolitan Line) also various other places on the Underground and different lines. Watching this awesome video from Scotland in the United Kingdom. ❤❤❤
Guardians is brilliant, especially if you get "September" as the music, and so is Test Track; my fave is Mission Mars though I went on that on repeat time after time as a single rider at the end of the day when my fam went off to do other things!
I fully understand why, for security reasons, you can not show everything in the cab. I work in Security & my site is extremely secure. We get asked by visitors & deliveries "What's with the high Security?" We just tell them that it's to do with Air Traffic Control
Thank you Dale I'm watching and I did laughed when you said 21 again so thank you so much and yes I did have a great Birthday and to Bournemouth for that week x😂🎉
