In my opinion it's a staple of buffalo ny. Too many people love it to let it go.. 100 million seems cheap to restore it these days.. I'd like to know the plans and ideas to incorporate it to help the economy and preserve the history .. I have deep ties to that building.. I'd never want to see it go.. The owner of the Adam's mark was right in some ways about the hand outs but yet when it comes to history and community we should do everything we can ..
I’m from Toronto, and you guys should’ve trusted Harry Stinson. I’ve seen the work that he’s done retrofitting a lot old buildings in Toronto and it’s excellent. That neighbourhood would’ve already been revitalized. “if you build it, they will come”.
As a Canadian that grew up in Port Colborne, Ontario now living in Toronto , I find that attitude is the problem in Buffalo .In Toronto , people have a positive attitude and in Buffalo , too many people have a negative attitude .
You’re absolutely right. In Ontario, a building like this would’ve already been revitalized. No developer would let this building go untouched. I just don’t understand what’s going on in Buffalo. That whole neighbourhood would’ve be revitalized already. It probably would’ve attracted a high-speed rail through there. Should’ve let Harry have his way.
This report was a total disappointment given the fact that you never explained what a DYNGUS is! I always thought that was a comic slang for a penis. Is that not the case? This really seems to me to be a prank, a hoax, by some not-so-serious guys to just get a lot of people saying the word “dyngus” with a straight face. You know, like getting someone to say, “I am sofa king wee Todd did.”
They talking about a time when white people ran the south side burning crosses on people lawns don’t seem that great to me but ig for whites it was the golden age
Captain Z-RO: Pass me the screwdriver? Jett dashes off. Captain Z-RO: Where did he go? Jett: Captain Z-RO, I found the orange juice; where do you keep the vodka?
It took a very long time that many for men and women that are like to restore data is not a landmark but also a landmark of us feel instead of it it is very important but also that I fell for the youngest Day from the childhood and for the family member to loved ones and friends and neighbors that I would love for the transportation data of a station that is like a attached to it like a a feelings and not feel instead of always to remember that a what used to be that up before and after that to see if that up once that I used to be of a beautiful of a station of a of a central Battle of a grand and looks and great but sometimes that are that it cannot hold on that I had to move on to the next person to the next person or to the future generation person that is forgotten abandoned that because the future is moving on something is like a a new transportation they just release it that out of four for the cars and the super high line Highway that I love a easy easier that it's a go much faster and including that airplanes as well but sometimes that I that people love something about it that are in is it attached to it like a time apart like a family and that family is like a to remember that enough abandoned or forgotten but also to remember that up from the youngest day that I from the for their mothers and fathers and for their grandparents and grandmothers and grandfathers and two mothers and fathers including that of many children. I love to go to the train station about that is so big and so cute and so humongous ever but also that are that when they growed up and there to see your data is not open again it's feel like it that is very sad but only the people that are that have to take care of it that someday that a Grand Central Station it could be responsible and running again that it in the future but only to have is like many people to stay on the positive and conscious that are well to save the building but not forgotten and not being destroy but also that of some day that I could see something before and after and including that someday in the future that well I don't know when he's going to be transportation of trains could blow that up all by using a yum a new generation of a future trains but not using a train track but the stations and the connection is that it will be the same it is but oh so that all by much cleaner and much better of a for the good of the environment as well for the future especially that up but I Grand Central tell him about that of every one of them that are people that they loved it and liked it for some people that are that the ones that they knew but it had been there like struggles that up well to the present and to the Future but this time that I got here so far away right now and how we going to see it that to remember and always that up over well sometimes... Have to be a how to say this of a better future a wonderful future and even that up over some day that it will function without of using a transportation but that is going to be like the clock is always taking that our Airline friend that this lifetime is moving on PS everyone that ever since. I love Transportation. Owner of trains that are I really like enjoy it and see that I went it was a small kid that up well that love it it'll see the window right there and always thought of seeing Santa is like how excited. Since when I was younger and today that a well I still like it that a transportation of trains that that well it's from the city and sometimes that I thought that I could be a bunch of boys working again but also that it is now coming back again. It's going to be retirement and even that a pretty like a museum but oh so data it is very very functional data to ride the train again and one more thing for everyone I speak Spanish and English English and Spanish and even those reflect United that well this is something is like to to tell you something about it but sometimes that I that that well Grandpa's our grandparents that are like the old trains but today right now you'll get your chance... Are they move on to Sunday is brand new one orbit Transportation but it's very sad anyway you know but I want to say that that is for all of you that not to be forgotten or abandoned but also that I ever had iconic up for used to be that how it looks like it got a to move on to the Future and Beyond then
The problem now is that the volunteers have done fantastic work, but now the repairs that need to be done are beyond them financially and technically.. To carry on funding is needed that is way beyond what bake sales can raise. I understand that they want to have control of the building. The Utica station is great, was there many times, the one thing that it has going for it is that it is not in Buffalo.
Let me share my story of the train terminal. My parents took a train out of Buffalo to Detroit to get married in 1960. They had to do that cause they were to young to be married in Buffalo. They stayed married their entire life. Now I'm 60 the son passing on this story to future interest.
Another factor, I believe, is the fact that Frank Loyd Wright is a name to conjure with, hence the money for the Martin site. The architect of the Central Terminal, whomever he was, is not such an iconic figure.
Thank you for posting this balanced account of the past, present and future prospects of the Central Terminal. I personally believe that this should be the site of any potential Buffalo Bills stadium project. The terminal proper could be converted into a hotel adjacent to the stadium, and possibly also a sports museum which could anchor the concourse. All of the above could be accessed easily by rail from Toronto, Rochester, Syracuse, or even Depew. There appears to be enough unused space near the location to accommodate a 21st century NFL stadium, and the need for parking would be diminished by the fact that getting there by rail would be convenient even for locals.
I'll tell you what 25 car loads of carnival rides & carnies means; It means "lock up your daughters, lock up your wife, lock up your back door, run for your life" !!!
Huh. No comments? Allow me. Recently a Tornado(F2 I believe) came through the Hamburg fair grounds. Also, recently, a person died in Ohio after a carnival ride malfunctioned, injuring several others. I wonder if they'll bring the train this year.
What a great video, I was smiling the whole way through. I went to Poland on study abroad this past summer and I simply miss the food so much I have to find a great place in Buffalo!
Agreed, however it's a great glimpse into early retro television. How long are the episodes in season of shows that you got? Early shows were only 15 minutes long. Maxwell
