You can make the holes closer to the edge of the paper and it will fix the problem with the pages getting stuck. Adjust the lever on the side (the one you pull out under the press dial)
@@BonesAndBlanketsStudioVlogs And there is a level on the left side (under the dial for the press) that allows you to select how deep you want the holes to be made. You would have had the same problem if you did just 10 pages in a small wire, if the holes are way too deep you have too much paper inside the wire circle and they would collide with each other. Do some tests in some test paper with it and you will see.
You can use a heat tool or 'heatgun' - they can be done without the oven just with the heat tool, but if you opt for the oven and you don't get to flatten before they cool you can use the heat tool to heat them up and then flatten down, use an acrylic block or something similar to flatten x xx Think they will be great !! Love your improvisation x TFS Julia x
@@juliasmith2892 thanks for the advice! I did end up getting a heat gun in the end and it worked sooo much better! The oven just was not the way! ( it's in the next vlog on from this one) xx
Watching you peel the transfer tape off the vinyl and mirror made me so nervous 😅 it turned out so well! It’s nice to hear people’s life updates. I hope it all works out for you and you’ll be able to keep a nice work/life balance without burnout. We will be here for your next video update, whenever that may be ❤
Haha that's normally the easier bit! It's was just the little dots that were playing a little hard to get 😂 aww thank you so much, yeah its a lot of mixed emotions and the minute and panic buying shop supplies so I'm prepared for the next few months. I hope I can keep this up too, I've got at 1 more vlog at least, just wait on something to be delivered 😉
Haha thank you, glad you enjoyed the video! I drew ALOT as a kid and a teenager got busy in my 20s then got back into drawing again in 2020. It comes in waves some months I'll draw next to nothing then the next I'll be churning stuff out daily!
Sorry your shrinkies broke. Maybe you can glue them and dub them "Busted & Disgusted, but maybe can be trusted" The original is a playful saying that means you/other person is to broke/broken, tired, frustrated, or had too much drama to be helpful or trusted. lol "Broke, busted, and too disgusted to be trusted" is the phrase I've heard most. lol
HI! i would like to ask something about wix. I saw their plans and I am struggling to understand their storage space offers. for someone that has over 300 listings on another website, whats the best amount of storage? or is the storage they speak of something entirely different?!
Honestly I'm not sure. I have 100+ listing (about 670 files, mostly images) some with videos and wix says I've used 1.5gb out of 50gb if that helps estimate anything. Guess your quality of images would make a difference. Have a look how much storage you've used on your other site if you can, that might give you a good estimate to what you will need
With the different sticker paper - matte vinyl and matte paper, the paper absorbs the ink more compared to the vinyl. To work around this, you could adjust the brightness/contrast and saturation in silhouette. ❤ Also, the sticker book came out so good and professional!! Love it!
Oh interesting I hadn't thought of it like that. I did try making some adjustments but maybe I didn't go far enough as it didn't make much difference. I don't normally try designs on both the paper and vinyl so it's always a bit of a shock when I do, luckily most of planner stickers are black so doesn't make a difference. I'll try some more aggressive adjustments see what happens 👍
@@Lunax868 Omg! I just tried bumping up the saturation to 100% (I went all in!) and the difference is wild! came straight here to thank you, I would have never thought I could get these kinds of colours from this paper. Your advice is a complete game-changer! ❤
It's is 80gsm and if my counting is accurate each notebook has 50 sheets + front cover, back cover and a frosted plastic cover to both front and back 👍
I went thru some similar trial and errors with a hole punch machine much like yours 😅 and had the same experience with the same wires. It says online some of the smaller size can hold 50 pages or more but I’ve had to size up for most of my projects because, while it holds that amount of pages, you aren’t able to properly turn them without snags and the pages getting messed up unfortunately. I always go a size or two up from the online recommendations now 😂
Thank you! That makes me feel so much better knowing I'm not the only one! Why say it holds that many if you can't turn the pages. At least making the little calendars was a good silver lining out of the whole mix up!
i was browsing your amazon store to find the resin brand you were using in the video, but i cant seem to find it? can i ask you what brand product you use for resin? (i want to try resin for the first time and loved how shiny it looks in your video)
Ah good catch, I completely forget about that! I've added it to the store its in a red bottle as there is a blue one I use sometimes too. Resin is a fun one, I'd recommend looking up safety stuff as it can be a bit nasty especially if you get into making things from resin in moulds. But it's super useful for jewellery ect 👍
Different sublimation blanks will give you different colors once pressed so printer settings for one type of blank will not all ways be the same for each blank even if they seem like the same material. I have sublimated mouse mats same size and feel but from two different manufacturers they have came out different colors
Very true! The plan was to make a bunch of mugs, I was just testing the colours on the little disks first so I didn't waste a load of mugs, glad I did since they were so far off the right colours!
Please be sure to sandwich your project(s) between parchment paper in your heat press. The ink can transfer to your heat press mat and come off onto other projects.
As someone who's tried sublimation myself, I know how frustrating it can be. For the print quality there should be a printer profile for the inks. You want your printer to always use that profile (even make a custom setting set to that profile for sublimation goods). They make "pillows" that you can use for sublimating items with thick seams though you may be able to make a nice thick parchment paper one. I also noticed that you weren't using a sheet over the items you were pressing either, that might have made a difference. Pressure is another thing that makes a difference too. Last year I tried to make puzzles and used too much pressure (nearly burned them). It can take a lot of trial and error but once you get a setting you like, write it down and make presets.
Thank you so much! That's a lot of useful advice! I do have the colour profiles so that's one thing I can mess with and both the paper and the ink are from the same company so thats got to help. I do think the pressure was wrong for the little bag it felt to loose so that might be an easy fix. Definitely one of the most frustrating and disheartened crafts I've tried! 😂
I hate when you print something and it’s come out slightly different! I’ve started a notebook where I just solely write down printer & computer settings for various papers and materials. 😅 I don’t do sublimation so unfortunately I can’t help but I hope it all works out soon 💜
Printers are the worst! That's not a bad idea! I might have to start my own book! Sublimation is even more frustrating since the printed colours are so different once pressed so it's impossible to tell until you waste a blank heat pressing them :/
Thank you! Its one of my fav mugs! It's from another very lovely same business Dead Inside Design (she has her own website so give them a Google!) It's a few years old now but she does do amazing colouring books atm ❤️
Watch lots of videos on how to do the shrink plastic, you’ll learn a lot Hopefully you didn’t become discouraged there’s just only a couple things you need to do different and they will turn out great :)
Which bit do you mean? Where I tidy up my messy colouring? I selected the outside of the line layer then went back to the colouring layer and just dragged it off the side, if that makes sense
