This show never, ever gets old. Mad respect to the three girls in the middle of the front row who knew every word and rocked out to the bitter end. Holland rules!!
@@milannossin2098 Wow. That must have been an amazing experience. You were a great crowd as well. I’ve seen them a few times and even from a the balcony they’re easily one of the best bands I’ve even seen live (and I’ve seen hundreds). Was this an outdoor event under a big tent?
@@brianshickey Yeah it was amazing! It was under a big tent. This was the first year of a, then, new festival. Now regarded as one of the biggest festivals of the netherlands. That year there were only 8000 tickets sold but the tent was massive. Everyone came to this concert but outside it was almost dead quiet when the Foals played. I also remember from that festival that when the dutch played against mexico we all watched outside and MGMT played at the same time in the tent and there were only like 40 people watching them. That festival The veils was the best ive seen, then this show and then Damon Albarn who played a very emotional set becuase his best friend died that day. This was a once in a lifetime festival and it was my first festival. It never really got better after this one haha
@@milannossin2098 Hey Milan, thank you so much for sharing that with me! Seriously. I’m a massive FOALS fan and have probably watched this concert on RU-vid 10-15 times as I feel it is one of their best live shows captured online. Their Redding show is pretty amazing too but this show was just a bit better and I say so mostly because of the audience. I’ve seen them a handful of times and their earlier shows were definitely the best as they looked a bit hungrier. I still say that they are the best live rock show in the past 15 years or so and will see them every time they come to Vancouver. Yannis is a fantastic frontman and they are all so gifted musically. I do hope they release another album as their last one (Life Is Yours) was very weak in my opinion. I hope they return to their roots in alternative ‘math rock’. I will hand it to you Europeans as you tend to have far better audiences than here in western Canada. Vancouver in particular. I’m planning on visiting Europe on a month vacation with my best friend starting in Ireland then making our way down through Western Europe all the way to Greece. The Netherlands is high on our list and we’re trying to time it when it’s festival season. What are some must-see festivals that you recommend (other than Glastonbury)? Thanks again for your reply. It’s always a pleasure chatting with other fans about music, especially FOALS. Cheers!
@@BellskiGreat to hear from another Vancouver fan that was at the same show. I can’t wait until they’re back. Again and again.. I will always pay to see them live.
the keyboardist always fucking up Spanish Sahara... and the lead vocalist... always fucking up the solo notes. thank god someone captured the original in the album. bless the person responsible. some bands really don't know what sounds good in their own songs. :/
Cmere Glen just to let you know, you always make a rainey 'sunny'. Saw you in "Glor" in Ennis Co Clare. Met you afterwards and always a gent. People say never meet your heroes, I wasn't disappointed. Your amazing, big up my man!
Louis, why don't you ask these talented musicians why they play Radiohead. It can't be that worthless otherwise they would have asked you for something to play.
