Super sad to hear that they’re discontinuing the car in the states. Here in Asia they’re still going to produce it. We call it the skyline over here. The GT version is the standard 3 liter TT, the 3.5 L hybrid is probably the most popular. And the rarest is the 400 R which is the red sport in the US. for 2024 you can get the 400 R nismo. A lot of people like the 2 L turbo over here because of the small taxes.
Worked for INFINITI from 2016-2024… had 4 Q50’s, two of them RS’s in Iridium Blue. Both RWD and modded. Had a lot fun in those cars. Infiniti has chosen the route EV Xovers and SUV’s. The QX60 ditched the VQ 35 and replaced it with the 4 cyl VC- Turbo motor. They’re done man. It’s sad.
Infiniti's especially the q50 are decent looking cars, reliable minus the oil leaks, easy to work on and look 🤌🏾. I have an 08 m35 and was thinking of getting a q50 for my girl...so I could fix it up and still get me a 2018 bwm m550i or 2017 650i
Nissan went from dominating champions of the JGTC in late 90s/2000s with their R32 and R33 GTRs and technology with a solid foundation for a "drivers car" that was the benchmark for every other automaker...to absolute garbage with their current vision. Why try to reinvent what you did so well? Nissan's turbo engines, manual gear boxes and the ATESSA-ETS AWD have existed for decades SUCCESSFULLY and yet here we are trying to reinvent the basics. And that's how business models and brands die a slow painful death. . . .
The G37S coupe was my favorite car I've owned and It was completely stock. I ended up selling it for an Audi A4 B8.5 then moved on to a M340 and finally a X3 M40 and still the G37 was the most engaging car on my daily commute so I'm sad to see the lineage has ended.
Man it is sad to hear this news... (former G37 & Q50 owner) this car just had so much potential. I always loved the front end, looked so aggressive to me. Sure there were some areas where Nissan/Infiniti fell short against the competition but these cars still held there own and deserve an honorable sendoff. RIP
Wow, my heart literally drop when they announce q50 no longer in production. This is the car that says "becareful of the quiet ones" when the vr30 came out in 2016. All infiniti needs to do is upgrade the infotainment system, bringing in that 9 speed and that new vr35 engine. Like what boost said, you can the suspension and e.t.c. it's like the blobeye sti came out in 2004. As for the exterior, I literally put 19 inch volk wheels and a forged carbon rear spoiler. When it's washed, literally people look at my car. Until this day, i remember it was on 4 way stop signs, another driver turn right slowly and roll down his window as I slowly drive. So sad to see this car go..!
You all say whatever you want to say, but it is a great car compared to a lot of others. The performance and looks are fine with me. You can say the interior is old, but it still looks good compared to these newer cars with all that fake leather and cheap buttons. The exterior still looks good just like any Genesis, Stinger, BMW, Mercedes or Audi. They say the same about the GTR, but I still rather have one than any newer car out there.
My take is that the Q50 and Q60 were great when they came out, but once the 3.0T was introduced and they did the facelift they needed to do more. The interior was severely lacking while Audi had the virtual cockpit with their A4/S4 and BMW's M340i. Honestly, if the interior were to be ignored, they at least needed to put a half-decent transmission in the car. The engine is great, but it is just limited by the horrible 7-speed. After 5th gear, if you're trying to downshift from 7 to 6 or 6 to 5, nothing happens... literally nothing besides the selected manual gear changing. The torque converter doesn't even seem to be locked up past 5th gear so why even offer downshifting when the RPMs don't change. When you are in 5th gear or below, the downshifts are often jerky, and when slowing down to a stop when the torque converter disengages you are thrusted forward, almost like someone pushed the car from behind. Upshifts are decent enough, but take a look at a stock M340i/S4, or even an xHP TCU tuned BMW, and it is night-and-day how fast the upshifts and downshifts are, ontop of being smooth with the torque converter almost always being locked up and holding the RPMs like a manual. If Infiniti threw a ZF8 in the car, it would be an absolute killer. Coupled with even a half-decent interior facelift, the car would've probably sold like crazy.
yea but getting rid of Maxima, Q60, Altima & now Q50 is insane. don’t know what they are cooking that will make a better legacy than any of those cars have…. literally
I almost traded in q50 2018 luxe awd 3.0t for 2024 q50 opal edition of a price tag 63k I went to the dealership to pick up car parts and that's when I saw the opal edition and interior gotten some sweet touches this salesman knows how to talk to people from traded in he almost pushed me to the edge the way he talked to me good this I said no but I hesitate and I'm only 23
There are hundreds of cars that manufacturers stop producing but that's business. Guess what we find used cars we love and purchase them to tune or rebuild modify ect. Either a person likes a car or they don't it's that simple. I enjoy my 2018 q50 and keeping it forever.
Just got rid of my 2014 q50.. for a Volvo s60 recharge (455 hp hybrid but also last year of production). Couldn’t stay with Infiniti. Seems like nobody’s running this company.
Yea nothing against SUVs but I can't believe people going from fast and furious enthusiasts to SUVs and soccer mom vehicles the Tahoe Pathfinder and Armada truck is nice but couldn't see myself choosing SUV over a Infiniti q50, Z,or Supra
There’s still a big market for sedans especially with the enthusiast community. If someone kills a sedan in their lineup, they’re just giving business to their competitors imo
Im a BMW owner but man this was so legit sad😢, hate to see the Q50 VR30 go,truly. I guess the Infiniti sedan and coupe doesn’t exist anymore. Salute to the Q50 and Q60 went up against some major competition over the years and held its own. 🫡
I'm glad I bought this car still. I still have people in Miami ask me, is it a new car or, I have never seen this car before. To make it a sold car, you only have to change out a few parts. At least for the red sport.
Keeping my Q60 RS, till it's a classic. Ifiniti really hurt my feelings discontuining this car. Had 2 G' before this. Loved the mix of luxury, sport and features...what a shame.
Yea Nissan/Infiniti looks like they are giving up on they products anytime they removing popular vehicles from lineup like Maxima and Altima you know the company is throwing in the tile
@@XulexTv mines around the same ams hx, lower downpipes boosted6 intake and r remote tune from racebox i would like too push 500 but i not sure how to go about it without making the car unreliable
Thank god, about time‼️ Nissan/Infiniti left this platform half baked & never improved a damn thing in over the course of a DECADE. The Q60 only lived for 5 model years & discontinued as well. RIP Q fam 🙏🙏🙏 I still do love my Q60 & intend to keep it longterm.
