Do you have a map of these locations? I'll be in Japan in November and would love to visit as Clannad was an anime that helped me deal with a lot of emotions and difficult subjects over the years
Hello! Question! So if I would choose not to get a reserved seat, can I just use my JR Pass to enter the gates/wicket? Also when you purchased the reserved seat ticket, do you just keep it for inspection? Thank you very much!
You don't have to get a reserved seat, just keep in mind that you can then only sit in the non-reserved section (usually the first 3 or 4 cars). Some lines like the Sakura Shinkansen (between Shin Osaka and Kagoshima) do have reserved seats only. Outside rush hour or the holidays or if you travel a short distance it usually won't be a problem to travel without seat reservations. You always insert the JRP into the wicket to pass through, regardless of having reserved seat tickets or not; the reserved seat tickets are basically there to locate your seat, so you don't insert them into the wicket. There is always the possibility that train staff will ask for the reserved ticket, but during my last vacation they never did.
If you’re traveling solo then it’s okay not to reserve seats. I’m here in Japan now with my wife and I reserved and printed out all our tickets for multiple trips.
Thank you for this. Do you know if they have these vending machines at Shinjuku Station? or are these only at Shinkansen stations like Tokyo and Shinagawa? Thanks
I never reserved them online so I'm not sure, but I suppose you need to since the new JRP doesn't have the passport number printed. The old JRP had the passport number written on it.
No revving, cars are tastefully done which show respect of car owners for their machines. That is how it should be done, preserving, not destroying or changing it for views. The culture and people are joust different in some places. Nice interesting cars.

All these famous towers look as high as a house. I'm not sure of the scale but they certainly look around 1:30 or 1:25. The famous twin towers were about 1365ft tall and these here look about 45/50ft. It's all so impressive, especially all the detail.
