All about Music, Synthesizers, Home Studios, and Electronic Music Production, and I am here to make this even more fun for you than it already is.
Here you'll find regularly updated content on how I work in the studio, my methods of Music production, OSCAR the Synth in the spot light of Synth-talks and tons of other material in the "all things Electronic Music" category. So feel free to dig in, I am super happy to see you here.
@@AttilaHanak Anytime you’re welcome - I just appreciate your work, wish I had your setup. Years ago I also where running a hardware setup, but now I’m limited too a IPad Pro which is surprisingly capable for my production these days. But I miss the hands on controllers
@565pedal Thanks 😊 Believe me somehow I’m starting to second guess having all this gear and I’m thinking to sell it all. Not because I got tired of it or I don’t enjoy it anymore, but because somehow lately everyone who doesn’t own any gear feels the need to s#!+ on those who do, and it’s starting to get to me. “You don’t need fancy hardware to make music” .. “Spends a fortune on it to make a car alarm sound” etc. etc.. And it’s to the point where I decide to post a video and I get called out on having gear in my studio, like somehow it’s a crime to enjoy the fruits of my hard earned money and wanting to share my work and passion with others. That’s why I stopped making videos for RU-vid a while ago. What’s the point? If I wanna get s#@+ on, I’ll just go to an open mic comedy night and sit in the front row 😂 But then there are nice folks like yourself who make it worthwhile 😊 Thanks again!
@@AttilaHanak I’m from the generation where RU-vid didn’t exist - when I had a big hardware setup, it were the only options if you felt the urge of making electronic music….. forget the modern days with a lot of haters - those guys are not able to master your level of production with or without a setup like yours! It’s all about talent…. And people who envied your setup will still exist no matter what - if you enjoying what you do, just keep turning those knobs. Form my experience you will get the results of GOOD composition and production faster with the hands on control. Just enjoy what you’re doing - I will still enjoy your music😉
BTW which headphones are you using? And are you mixing with monitors or a combination of monitors and headphones? I also miss Appleton live compared too the options of IPad, where there only Logic or Cubassis and AUM if you don’t need a timeline approach🤔😉
I sync my DFAM with MIDI . I trigger the DFAM from my Mother32. Place a patch cord from the ASSIGN output jack on the Mother-32 into the ADV / CLOCK input on the DFAM.
Hello I would like to use Addictive drums 2 drum loops to trigger on the tr8, is there a ableton plugin to translate the tr8's midi notes into other standard midi drum notes? Some are matching but not all but I think it's just the kick drum and tom
Has anybody had success with arturia's minifuse 4 interface? My setup is a bit different, I send CV to outputs 3 and 4 on minifuse using max. But that interface has maximum output voltage about 2.26 volts! It is not enough to trigger a DFAM. ADV/CLK works, but not the trigger. Had to build an amp to make it work. Just a simple non-inverting amp using TL072.
hey how is it going? I have the audio complete 6 which is dc coupled, and I tried with cv tools and it worked but the dfam seq steps were not moving so I wanted to try this way and it happened exactly what it happened with the cv tools. Anyone has the same problem or any possible solution to this? thank you!
@@kobi-kobsen I must admit I agree with you. As a matter of fact, I find it extremely pleasing to know that I'm not the only one on the planet who likes calmer videos, so we're definitely on the same page Kobi. Sadly, with today's unwritten requirements to please social media visitors (most of us with attention spans shorter than a quick fart), unless you have an established channel like Loopop, you kinda need to follow the trend where your video is overly dynamic, otherwise you'll loose your audience really fast. With today's shot length average around 4 second in full feature films, probably a fraction of that on social media, if you don't introduce 97 flashy cuts in the first second of your video, you're likely to be just scrolled over. I do like Loopop's videos, although he also uses a lot of camera angles. The one thing I don't appreciate in his work is the left side of his screen being entirely wasted by displaying the time stamps of his videos in text, which serves absolutely no purpose other than taking your attention away from the important parts. I guess that made sense before RU-vid implemented actual time stamps, but now imo it's just really unnecessary. How do you feel about that? In any case, thanks for the feedback, I'll try to find a better balance next time. Cheers, Attila
Thank you for this, very useful! I think though the sequence would have sounded better with Cmaj7 instead of Emin7, I know they share the same notes but the order just changes the feeling of it. Good job though
What if I wanted to use all three effects, modfx into verbz and echoz surely the mono input makes this impossible, also the larger z-Dsp only does a single effect per card does it?
Hehe nope, the battery was dead. But I decided to wear my Boss watch anyway, to impress everyone. (you know..because the $5K worth of gear under it just wasn’t impressive enough 😉) Nice catch though! Thanks for watching. Cheers, Attila
Hey Roland, Thanks for watching! Starting and stopping Ableton will also start/stop the DFAM’s sequencer, but it won’t reset it to the first step, because the DFAM doesn’t have a reset function. So to make sure your DFAM starts from the beginning of the sequence, you’ll have to jump through the sequence to the last step, then when you start Ableton, the DFAM will also start from step one. Hope this helps. Cheers, Attila
I want to know how to play each step on the DFAM sequencer from a DAW. You can do this with the Sonoclast MAFD 2hp module. But what's it doing to allow this? It must only be voltages, I guess. Just wondering if you have a means to control DFAM, as in this video or via an Expert Sleepers module or something else, could you replicate what Sonoclast is doing in software?
Thank you very much for such a great short tutorial. You are making me like the digitakt more and more. I really like how you have devided the tutorial in a way that also allows you to "let the infomation sink". The fact that you go trough the instrument with the same amount of knowledge as other new begginers, makes a great difference since it also shows the classic "small frustrations" that people go trough when learning new gear. The fact that you don't give up until finding what the manual tries to communicate also shows other people different ways of problem solving and I havent seen that in any other tutorial. I am really looking forward for the next videos, but as you said at some part of the video. I just need to practice with what I have learned so far, so I don't forget about it.
Hey! thanks for the video. But I'm trying to follow your steps with Roland TR-06 but there is no sound. How did you manage to have the sound of the instruments if you just setup midi channels? Did you use audio the output of TR-8 to hear the sound?
Thanks Radek :) Indeed that would be helpful for you guys. I honestly haven’t had the chance to do it yet. Sometime soon hopefully, when my schedule allows for it. Thanks for watching. Cheers, Attila
Hey Man, thanks for the nice feedback :) I'm glad you enjoyed! The ATX3 VCOs are still in prototype phase, not sure when the TipTop guys are ready to release those. But definitely stay tuned, they will be frckn amazing ;) Cheers, Attila
