I TOO AM A BIG FAN OF THE FIRST GEN. COUGER I WONDER WHAT A DAN GURNEY EDITION IN IT'S ORIGINAL SHAPE IS WORTH TODAY THESE CARS ARE WAY TOO UNDERATED I ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT THEY ARE SO UNIQUE LOOKING SUCH SHARP STYLING THEY ALSO HAD AN OPTION IN THE TAILIGHT SEQUINCE WERE THE DIRECTIONALS MOVED IN A DIRECTIONAL MOTION DEPENDING IN WHAT DIRECTION YOU WERE TURNING AS WELL THE MUSTANG DIDN'T HAVE THAT COOL APTION. I KNOW THIS FOR A FACT BECOUSE A CLOSE FRIEND OF MINE HAD A 67 OR A 68 MODEL YEAR.
This looks identical to the one I owned back in the 70s and 80s. Wimbledon White with black cloth interior. Any chance you still have this? Any chance you would be interested in selling it? I GAVE mine to my mom in the mid 80s when my oldest brother wrecked her Thunderbird and she had no other car. Unfortunately, a few years later, she was hit and my mom junked it without thinking to offer it back to me. Of all the cars I've owned over the years, that is the only one I've continually dreamt of replacing.
Dark Ivy Green! My 1970 XR7 was Dark Ivy Green with a black top and saddle leather interior, 351 4v, auto, ps, pb and air! Then I got a 1971 Imperial LeBaron four door, Tawny Gold Metallic, black top and tan leather interior with the rear heater/defroster and the computer controlled four wheel sure brake system, fully loaded! I miss both of those cars!
That's a nice ride, I sure as hell hope you did it justice by gettin rid of any and all rust, and had it shot with some brand new, correct color code paint....
Boing-boing ! Heh heh, I love the way these cars sit on the road. These fancy looking Mercurys have so much presence. A friend of mine had the basic sedan from this year. It still had plenty of go in it tho, for a big old boat. It seemed to float down the road and was very well sound insulated too. This is the sporty version here tho. Wow thanks 4 sharing ! Dig them groovy tail lamps baby ! = )
this is a 1967 mercury montclair w/390!!! i have the exact same car and i need a passenger side fender pleas let me know if you know where i can find one at
