Thank you for sharing your journey. Very helpful. I have a couple questions, maybe you can help. I’m a first time dragon owner. Our girl is almost a year old. She started digging behaviors so we made her a lay box. First couple times we put her in there, she wanted nothing to do with it. Then the third time she dug a hole and has been in there almost 24 hours. We have suspended a heat light above her. Here are my questions: Should we just leave her alone? And how long will she be in there? And should we keep the heat light or remove it?
I am absolutely in love (and also obsessed 😆) with mystery snails. They’re so fascinating and beautiful, they really connect with their owners and mine love to “finger nibble” LOL it’s the sweetest thing. It is so fun to watch them put on a show gracefully flowing their antennas in the water
Female bearded dragons dont lay eggs in the wild without a male the only reason they lay eggs in captivity without a male is because they are being fed to much I just watched a video about it
Looking at the shell is not 100% as most snails can change their gender although this takes time & it really only confirms their birth gender. impretty sure i bought 2 males 6 mnths ago but now i have a horny male constantly sittin on the other and eggs in my tank 🤔
I ordered aquatic plants and I got a built in ecosystem...snails, worms, Im sure all kinds of things I cannot see, and also planaria....they started hunting snails, which wasn't actually a bad thing.....tide changed upon adding fish. The snail deaths lessened and Im managing them (doesn't seem to be out of control) with traps. At one point, I got discouraged and thought I should start over...but then figured, if I do that, I will not be learning anything. Yea I could had treated the aquarium, but it would had wiped out everything....so with a natural, planted aquarium, I decided to hand the reigns over to nature. With so many moving parts and minimal interference from me, my aquarium will find its way, and Im here logging parameters and what Im seeing daily. My plants have shielded my aquarium from all things bad. Ive yet to have an ammonia reading, and yet the plants grow like they're being infused with CO2. The aquarium has so many beneficial things going on, and we must accept that in nature, not everything is desirable, but there is 100% no doubt that everything has its place. My fish do not need to be fed daily, they are constantly foraging, my Cory cats constantly sift through the substrate kicking debris into the water column which includes little worms, etc. We must accept nature as nature and see the positives and carefully monitor the negatives.
Love the video!! I have been debating on what sealent to use. I bought a grout a mortar sealer, but im not sure if i should just use an acrylic sealer instead.. im paranoid about it being toxic
Those dots are just stars, moons, and planets. You should be grateful. Your snails are awakened so your aquarium is vibrating on a cosmic frequency. 😅🙃
I’m 4 years late, but I just used this method to sex my pair of mystery snails. One is female, and the other is being stubborn. I’ll be trying again soon. Thank you for this video!
There's a good possibility that I'll be adopting a Timneh African Grey this week and I want to make one of these for him. Thank you for your tips and inspiration!
Hello! I was wondering if these had some good weight to them, I'm thinking of making one for my ball python but he tends to flip his hides over so I wanted to make something he couldn't flip over easily.
Ive just started a posh cat channel, and i have 8 subs. Not bothered by the views, but would like my subs to grow, albeit strictly organic. I appareciate these tips, I learned something new. Thank you :)
Hi, my beardie laid about 15 two weeks ago, one a few days later and is still pushing to get reaming out. This normal? First timer and I’m afraid I might have ruined the first egg laying session by removing her …..
I’m sorry to hear that!! Sometimes they can have one or so leftover but usually don’t take that long to lay them. However, she could have developed more and would need a whole new laying session. I’d take her in for an X-ray and see what you’re working with! Because if she’s struggling, she could be egg-bound, which is never good!
THANK YOU. I have been trying to find a video that details how to deal with bulk orders. I didn’t realize that once you cut the bag open that they can easily be separated. I thought they would been stuck in one giant frozen pile and you you would have to snap each one off at a time.
Um you posted this a few years ago..I trust that by now you know that detrius worms are a sign of overfeeding and no concern.Excessive ones you can siphon up once a week or twice a month if you don't have any fish who eat them.i have intriduced them as a natural food source into my tank amongst other few critters
