Self employed general Jobber and mechanic to I work on most machines from Landrovers to Plant and Agricultural Machinery and anything that comes my way regularly Mig Tig MMA weld of steel, stainless steels and copper, brazing and hopefully soon AC Tig . Take pride in repairing and rescuing parts others would replace or scrap ! Also doing a fair bit of work with a local Aboricutural company and driving tractors !
Broken bolt removal is a particular favourite problem to deal with :)
Also have an avid interest in Cold War infrastructure in the UK and I regularly work on several sites including bunkers utilising my skills to help preserve and maintain these historic sites.
Well saved sir! Those bigger sized Helicoil kits are quite dear, but if you've got the work, they can save a tonne of time I'm sure. BTW, something strange happens with the audio at about 4:30 where it seems to repeat with the mill running when you are tapping.
Yeah I couldn’t work out the audio issue :( I’m only an idiot in a shed editing and such isn’t my forte ! That kit is available between £65-£105 depending where you shop ! I have many of those ones now as they are cost effective. My preference is for Würth Timeserts but they are limited in sizes for imperial and costly !
Thanks for sharing, very informative! How did you know the bushing went out on the machine ? It's not like there was excessive play on the feed roller right ?
Hi thank you, it’s a service item at a set hours run time but the squeaking noise when it was running is the give away sometimes on these, I had spoken to the local dealers who had also explained the same, the wear you can see will cause the noise.
Do you not need any oil at all on the brass bush ? (Not questioning your work at all)I'm currently doing mine , which has led me to your channel, just the ticket thanks for posting this cheers.
Apparently not I did put some dry lube Ptfe spray on it ! It’s a dry install just like the St6 etc! One thing we did have was the squeak reappear and it was actually the top roller out of alignment and rubbing on the feed chute side ! Warranty job for realignment but the bush replacement is not covered hence me doing it !
@TheGingerGeniu78 ah thanks for that , i have a unusual grinding noise every now and then ,seems to be feed roller related hence me changing the bush , Pretty sure the noise will still be there afterwards as well tends to be the normal situation for me as well! At least its something refreshed and all good in either case ! Thanks for reply
@@nathanwindle9816 you can soon tell if they are rubbing on the chute when stopped spray some WD40 or similar on the chute and end of feed roll if noise changes or goes it’s rubbing there ! :)
Thank you, unfortunately the top dog is no longer with me he had an unfortunate freak accident and sadly lost his little life :( he is sorely missed I can assure you !
Top stuff David! Utterly bonkers number of tractors, though I'm convinced some were going round the block! Not a fan of Mercedes cars, (or cars in general!) but I do like the look of those MB Tracs...
The tractors of my childhood, i can remember seeing the FW60 n FW30 on a ford dealership in Stamford when they first came out, it's great to see and hear them working still. I wish I could go back in time. Great video loved every minute of it. 🎉🎉🎉🎉
A really nice piece of footage, well done. No music to spoil it, just the noises of the machines themselves. Must say, that Claas combine was going well - the Ransomes looked like a snail by comparison.
Yeah, the Claas was certainly making up for it's narrow header with a turn of speed. Hope the ears were ready and wasn't just for show too. Top stuff sir, looks like a good day was had.
Everybody loves the sound of a V8 don't they? maybe, but not on open pipes ! the current trend of more row is better has gone too far. Personally I would have had enough after an hours ploughing never mind a day or a week ! the 6 cylinder is much better, despite the ugly can on the front, and it is pulling 10 furrows compared with 9 pulled by the FW 30, which is being driven by the throttle happy chav (Focus ST owner??) with his mate hanging on for dear life trying not to be crushed under a big fat tyre.......................not a good advert for farming !!
With careful use I’d say 20 feet easily I did both those and the paint removal and still had half the disc left, definitely a case of getting the angle and direction of approach correct and not applying to much pressure, they all seam to make them last long enough to justify, also the removal of paint and some powder coats is my main use they are a one pass fast solution to coating removal !
