How do you keep finding these amazing places? I never knew this place existed, it looks like an alien landscape. Great flying & a great choice of music. Thanks for sharing Greg. 🦘😎👍
You're very welcome. I can't remember how I discovered the Pink Cliffs. I first flew there with the Phantom, pretty close on five years ago now - when my flying and videography skills were a little more rudimentary. The Avata brought me back again for a different type of flying.
That's quite a long bridge, a shame it's in such bad condition. I wonder what is the purpose is of the gravel on the bridge? Great flying with the Avata Greg, really on the flow. Thanks for sharing mate. 🦘😎👍
Thanks for the compliments. It's a former rail bridge, so I presume the gravel was bedding for the sleepers - which have since been removed, along with the rails.
Cheers. Yep, 'golden hour' is the bees-knees. And with daylight savings about to begin, it's going to get easier to wake up for those early starts. I had fun with the sound-effects. My daughter guffawed when she first heard them, but I think they add to the experience... maybe except for the whoosh sounds. :-)
Really skilled flying Greg, you're getting some nice footage with the Avata. I bet that "uncontrolled slide" raised the pucker factor considerably. Thankfully the prop guards saved you from that fern. 🦘😎👍
Thank you. I would have seen them coming on that path... it's blind bends that make me nervous, especially when mountain bikers like to frequent the same tracks! :-)
Ooh, that would have been nice. Although I wonder if the video feed coming back to my goggles (that which you've just watched) would have given us the frame rate recorded on the drone?
@AViewFromTheAir-wx1kp Thank you for being gracious about it. You have inspired me (from the visual, that is ! ) to go camping and explore the Avon River. Once again, great video and footage !
Really nice flying again, loved the sound engineering with the waterfall effects. This place is amazing, it wouldn't be hard to spend all day flying there. 🦘😎👍
Thanks! It is an amazing place. It would be great to have the whole day to fly there, but I had to get in and out pretty early to avoid disturbing other walkers.
Cheers. With the new drone, I'm able to revisit places I've flown at before and produce quite different material. Turpins falls was one of those locations.
Holy hell mate, you like flying close to the water. Nice sound engineering on this one, was that after the comment on your Thompson Dam Spillway video where the guy said he preferred the water sound? I have tried to fly at Thompson Dam twice, once it was raining heavily & the other time it was blowing a gale. 🦘😎👍
There's definitely a thrill in flying lower. I remember that comment... well, we have a water sound this time, plus music. My Thomson Dam video is still pulling in the views. I got lucky that morning - it all came together.
