Waste of taxpayers' money and the time of young Singaporeans. Foreigners should do NS if they want to work in Singapore for more than 3 years. I am still trying to figure out how Patrick Tan, son of former Defense Minister Tony Tan, got a 12- year deferment of his National Service. Why was this allowed? He should have returned to Singapore to do his NS before continuing to do his PzhD. Did MINDEF also arrange something special for him that served as his basic military training (BMT)? There should be greater openness and transparency on all NS deferment.
Singapore Army is not a part of CCP. It is not affiliated with the CCP because it's an army of it's own. And finally, Singapore is a country itself so it can't apply for Chinese Citizenship. (I know it's a joke)

During Vietnam war, the Marines experienced alot of casualties when the new M16 replaced their proven M14. Alot of them were wounded, killed as their rifles jammed when facing their enemies who were using the AK47. They complained bitterly to the top brass but they were brush aside saying the soldiers didnt clean their rifles properly. This is something SAF need to be mindful about.
Someone doesn’t want the Ultimax 100. All the features mentioned - rails, ambidextrous safety, red dot with flip up 3x magnifier, … are easy modifications that STKinetics should be able to do. Even switching from an open bolt to a closed bolt, and adding a semi automatic stage should be possible.
