I came from the interview you did with Ruslan. Man it’s crazy to see how god is working through you to help other people. Thanks for speaking on your journey to Jesus.
Bring out that break down video on how to interpret dream interpretation out of your archives dawg. ‼️ You taught me how to interpret dreams dawg. And you were like 14 or something like that with that kind of extreme intelligence.‼️
its crazy how people will sit here and say "oh why do people that get allegations just "turn their lives to god"." Like cant you just be happy that this guy has turned to god, regardless of whether he may or not be guilty. its not anyones place to decide whether he has or has not turned to god except god himself
I swear you could tell how good an MK game was just by its intro. I was just watching Khaos Reigns and none of those fight choreographies are touching the Deception intro. That double spin Raiden hit them both with. The lightning shield, Quan chi skeleton wall, Shang Tsung turning souls from the soulnado into fire.. the fire cobra. There was no filler. Every single move was an intentional banger. That's when fight scenes actually had weight instead of a bunch of henchmen battles.
@@TheAlmonteFilms Man I played all 4 of the PS2 MKs to death and every single time I'd load one up, I'd sit there and watch the intro in it's entirety lmao. The cinematic intros for most PS2 games were hard to skip. And I agree, the choreography also lost it's soul. When you'd go in the 'extras' menu and watch the clips of them using the mocap suits and putting everything together it was clear those early MK games were passion projects for them. Same went for animated shows during that era like Avatar The Last Airbender. There's still passion projects coming out, but they don't seem as common as they once were.
Me and my older brother were just as upset as you when we realized Lui Kang is killed at the start of Deadly Alliance lol my older brother passed away almost a decade ago and that's a memory I hadn't thought about in so long. I agree though, I do miss when games and tv shows took risks with their main characters and you labeled it perfectly, the new norm is cowardly and soulless.
Im in like minute 5 and I just gotta say rq that DBZ had the best concept of time travel because trunks didn’t change his future he changed the Z fighters timeline he always returned to his own time no paradoxes need apply. DBZ Goated with physics lol
Movie talk. 🔥 Yeah, batman got beat to. Never really seen a crazy beat down of a superhero like that except maybe Spiderman vs green goblin. I agree though. Time travel is a cop out. Satisfying in a way to draw out a story, but then it gets boring.
I don't agree that different universe couldn't have gay, black, or different versions of these characters. Because different universe might have different rules. Even with comic books and movies, what we grew up with isn't exactly the OG idea or design of said characters. It would be highly selective and honestly hypocritical to try and draw some arbitrary line in the sand. That being said I 100 percent agree with you on mk11. Since not only did they jump ahead in time. They killed off half the roster with the whole Sindel incident. It took courage to take on those writing decisions. To have Kronka basically serve as a literal living recon to the narrivate hurts so much built that been happening for almost a decade by now. Mk deciding at the end to recon the universe again just ended feeling they wrote the story into a corner and basically had to restart the universe. Which made feel annoying since they decided to introduce mutiverse into the story in the first installment of the reboot. It feels like we've already peak in terms of the stakes.
Mk11 almost makes you question why couldn't Kronka just recon anybody else who dare defy her. If she was capable of doing to an elder god. Personally, it feels like they didn't truly think out the implications of something at this nature. Considering for some reason, a young Radien is also bought back with a young Liu Kang which wouldn't help her plan at all. Again, just feeling like a narrivate excuse to not have to stick these evil versions.
I actually agree that a different universe could have gay, black, etc characters. But my argument in my offshoot video about Cyrax and Sektor is that it comes off hypocritical and obvious pandering when they are deliberately choosing to gender swap from male to female but not race swap from black to another race. And never will they do a male version of beloved female characters because they know we are already lacking in that and they would lose diversity points on their CEI score. This is why I yawn at the multiverse plot point in general these days because it seems like a selective vehicle to push whatever they deliberately choose and then gaslight the public as racist or sexist if we demand some sort of explanation for these changes. Many people will respond like "Cyrax and Sektor's gender never even mattered anyway!" Sure. Then why change it? It literally takes more work to take something that supposedly makes no difference. So it was important enough for it to be brought up and approved in a writer's room to gender swap a character and not gender swap others. We have to remember that Lui Kang deliberately formed this timeline and CHOSE Raiden to be human, Bo Rai Cho to be an elderly woman, and Sektor and Cyrax to be women. He was trying to create a perfect world of peace. So any changes we see speaks to Lui Kang's character and what he believes in a perfect world. They are not just random variations of different timelines but ones that are shaped by the personality of each Titan. So the lines in the sand would be that it has to make sense to the Titan timekeeper and be explained in some way. And yeah I agree the peak in stakes already happened. I honestly think they should have some major cataclysmic event where the ONE BEING is awakened by Onaga in his timeline or something and all the timelines merge into his. Then they wind up having to actually confront a high stakes environment with a tyrant and split all the realms again. Lui Kang becomes an Elder God, Raiden remains an enhanced human, we get Fujin back, maybe even Cetrion, bring in some new characters like King Jerrod as an actual playable character that is freed from Ermac. Idk. We just need something to undo this whole multiverse timeline thing and move on. It's been 4 games on an infinite loop of the same story. I thought after MK9 we would finally get past the rehashing of the same character arcs.
@TheAlmonteFilms appreciate the response first and foremost. I'll say that with the potential to be funded based on disvered a game is. It'll result in people who probably just wanted to do a thing into precieved as only doing for money or pandering. But pandering even if we granted this. It just another form giving an audience what they want. Those who will think it's cool or don't care either way. I've watched your Cyrax and Sektor video. And that is a fair argument to ask why not alter other things while we're at it. But I often think about what if people have simply a preference to change certain aspects. Rather than it being some bingo list. For me Cyrax n Sektor have always been a commentary about their humanity and then their sex. I don't think there's a single about their story that meaningfully different by making them women. This is why when people attempt to cheekly use examples like Black Panther or Shaft it doesn't make any sense. Since their race plays a fundamental role in their stories you wouldn't have the same character if they were a different race. I don't think the same can be said for characters like Sektor or Cyrax.
@TheAlmonteFilms I get what you mean about his perfect universe. But if Liu Kang truly wanted a perfect universe he wouldn't have allowed Shao Kang to be reincarnated. I imagine that allowing these people to come to exist again would only result in them having the exact same personality. So why create a universe where you're just saying for problems. Especially since you birth this Shang into a world where he hasn't done anything wrong. I would go as far to argue that he has every right to hold a grudge against Liu Kang here. I agree they should've addressed this mutiverse later. I like your idea of bringing older characters. Finding a way to cut this universe from always potentially having other variants coming to visit at any time. To me It dilutes the significance and importance of Liu being the elder god. Since unless there's exists a conflict that'll affect every single timeline why care? Lol
Watch Bokurano, one of the most devastating depictions of a multiverse ever. Everything Everywhere All At Once did it well too. Personally I don’t think there’s anything wrong with multiverses other than time travel as concepts, what you actually have a problem with is big franchises using it as a convenient do anything button.
I agree. I loved Interstellar, Project Almanac, Prince of Persia, Somewhere in Time, Time Lapse and plenty of time travel movies before this modern infinite multiverse thing became a trend in pretty much every IP. And as you said Everything Everwhere did an amazing job. One shot movies and limited series usually do it well because they have the incentive to have a "moment of truth" payoff. When you intend to make an infinite amount of sequels as long as you can keep money, the incentive is to keep rehashing and undoing anything that doesn't work for the artificial feeling of having something appear fresh/new. It's why COD has to have guest characters now.
Personally, i love multiverse plots and stories. It gave movies like The One, Miles Morales's Spiderverse movies, Loki tv series, EEAAO, Spiderman NWH which brought McGuire Spiderman into MCU canon, Mr.Nobody, Donnie Darko, Sliding Doors, Sliders tv series, Coherence movie, Crisis on Infinite Earths (Arrowverse tv series crossover event), Devs tv series, Thirteenth Floor movie, Dark tv series, etc. I enjoy it. If u don't like it, that's fine. Simply just go watch something else and let those who like it, watch.
I love Donnie Darko and Spiderverse series. I think they have clear rules that cover plot holes and doing just use the concept as an UNDO button. However, I don't think my commentary on why I don't like the practice of other ones is getting in the way of letting others watch what they please.
The timeline in Deception was controversial for me, in that inherently, Onaga wanted to unite the realms to bring back the o.g titan, the One Being, because the Realms are his body parts separated by the Elder Gods, who committed the very First Fatality to him. They have Deception Kharakters, aight, but no Vengeful One Being possessing Onaga yet, no, maybe still just the female cyborgs and the multiverse junk they still regurgitated to us. If the Sequel was about the One Being and the ELDER GODS PAYING FOR THEIR CRIMES, I might buy the game. Seeing that as a tall order for Netherrealm my wallet is safe.
As a writer who’s writing a multiverse I have two rules. 1. Treat timelines like islands in one piece, they have their own problems but they won’t fix your life 2. Death and failure is permanent unless you wanna pay an unholy price
What a lot of people don’t realize is the fact that those other versions of your favorite charecter aren’t the same as the one we’ve been following since the begining. What keeps the tension is us loosing OUR “Spiderman” or OUR, “Ironman.” That’s why we still care if they die. This whole, “Nothing matters in a multiverse,” idea is more nihilistic than the idea of a multiverse in general. Because if I die, my family won’t care if another version of me exists, because they still lost the version of me they grew up with.
our universe may have branching timelines but those timelines would be in the same universe and those timelimes would have the same universal laws, but if i were to go to another universe, that universe would work entirely different (kinda like rick and morty)
@@zacbrown3797 I see, this is a good point. It's kind of how there are realms within each timeline of Mortal Kombat. Some of the realms never come to exist in some timelines. For example, Chaos realm is its own realm in the original timeline. But in Lui Kang's timeline(3rd iteration), there is no Chaosrealm. Only those who rebel against Seido. In Titan Havik's timeline, I don't even think it's mentioned whether or not there is a chaosrealm. His timeline is like the merging of other timelines and all the realms seem to be chaotically connected to his via the kamidogu(which pretty much act like infinity stones in this story).
@@TheAlmonteFilmswatch Legion It was completely different from the MCU that's why I hate when people wanna call Fox Movies and TV series MCU it's like a slap in the face, cause the time travel had deathly consequences
@@TheAlmonteFilms Also iloved the X-Men films they all had heart and now the mcu fanboys wanna claim it as theirs and that's just cause the mcu is trash now
I feel like a multiverse story has to have the fact that the multiverse exists be the main focus, or incorporated in a way that makes it feel less like a tool and more like a force. I completely agree that current multiverse stories use like a literal writing tool, and it's sooooo lazy. Multiverses are cool, but they are the lamest thing when used to write the equivalent of fan-fiction.
The Grandfather theory is similar to "The Umbrella Academy"! This is what the new age is calling "Creativity". Todays creativity has no kind of effort whatsoever....just a lot of regurgitation of recycled creativity!
The multiverse just takes away the tension and weight of action in film ; whats worse is writers don't use the multiverse as interesting plot point rather as get out of jail free card. also, the old tv in the background with Armageddon playing is a vide
Seriously. There is no weight nor tension because there are no stakes if you can hit the UNDO button with time travel. Prince of Persia had the element of sand being required to rewind time a finite amount. Placing limits and boundaries is the only way to have consistency in complex plot devices like time travel, multiverses, alternate timelines etc. Notice how in all these kinds of movies everything is META IRONY 4th wall humor every 5 seconds too(Marvel). It really starts to show the distinction between art as an expression vs entertainment as a product. Thank you; I'm officially an oldhead that's a sucker for nostalgia lol.
Agree. Media with multiverses haven’t had much of good writing in a long time. Felt like this with Marvel movies, especially That last spider-man movies 🤢
