I paid complete so there won't be setbacks but the Man was something else, you have to give him or buy something before he will have one on one time for me. After smoking he will beat day light out of the boys for a little mistake, though he doesn't beat me maybe because am married. Thank God my first baby gown i sew was through utube.
Just measure 17 inches down from the waist for the breaking point. Waist to knee depends on your measurement I think for that particular skirt in the video it was 23 inches.
I can honestly attest to everything you said as a self taught fashion designer as well. PRACTICE is the keyword… I was also very daring! I challenged myself with styles and that’s why I learnt really fast
😂 😂lol ur very right as a self taught .my sister did same but it really helped me n u need to pray it really helped n still helping ,must times for example how to sew trouser or gown I can watch 10 different videos on that n come out with something that work perfectly for me it does help alot thanks.
😂 you made a very valid point. You become so creative and versatile that you come up with techniques that work. I can combine different pattern making methods and the style will come out perfect. And yes sisters are the real OGs in this journey they deserve to be on the hall of fame 😂
I went to pay for 6 months apprenticeship but the woman is not teaching me anything ma😢,,past 2 months yet haven’t achieved anything yet also helping her to make her works straight stch only,, I want to stop
Pls do. I for one, my madam dont show random people how to cut or sew. We her girls she doesn't show work despite payment how much more to strangers. she's that wicked, till everyone left. She's good at what she does but very selfish with her knowledge yet I keep wondering why she kept collecting apprentice when she won't teach them or have enough machines for them. We were 20 apprentice then with only 3 machines the 4the machine was strictly for her use
Awww so sorry about that. Some don’t start teaching their students until almost the end of their duration which is unfair. You might want to discuss with her before you decide to leave, you paid so you should get value for your money.
@anitalawerence122 I’m still wondering why people do that, nobody is anybody’s competition. There’s enough room for everyone in the industry in Nigeria. If we had enough fashion designers and tailors in Nigeria producing for different markets we won’t be buying second hand clothes or foreign labels, that’s how huge the industry is.
Sorry about that 🥺 point o is the same as bust point. I get the working in cm can be a little confusing at first, but I believe you’ll get it with practice. You can ask and I’ll explain the parts you didn’t get and thanks for pointing it out. I appreciate your feedback
Ohhh sorry about that. Yes I do, please check this one- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NlS-5Jd8HNo.htmlsi=q-JceueHesDU9a8O I’ll also explain in details in my next video.
Thank you for watching 🤗 let me know if you will be using this method to draft your skirt pattern and the result after. I also used the same method to draft a mermaid skirt on fabric check it out here 👉ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OOmPWVPRXsA.htmlsi=lDSL-9EKzE1obSjG
Hi!!! Sorry I skipped it because I have explained in other videos, but since you asked here is how I did the underbust tightening. I marked my shoulder to UB, ruled across, measured that line then I divided my UB circumference by 4. After which I subtracted that figure from what I measured on the UB line. I had 6cm after which is about 2.5inches, I then shared that on both sides of the dart leg. I marked 2.5 cm on the side closest to the CF and 3.5 on the other side. Thanks for your comment, and hope you understand the explanation.
I used 2 yards for the skirt here. But the amount of fabric you'll need will be determined by how full you want the skirt to be and your size. But usually 2 yards should do.
Hi @ejiroekopokpobe7623 The back won't be exactly like the front eventhough you'll be eliminating the zip allowance. Remember that you will be blending the waist at the top from the zip allowance part to your hipline and also from the breaking point to the hipline. Which is what contours the skirt, you will then cut the skirt from the breaking point down to the hem exactly as the front pattern even if you're cutting on fabric just follow the steps explained here and the video. So you have a curved upper part and straight lower part for the back skirt pattern and the front pattern will be straight per usual because it will be on fold. I hope this helps. Thanks
