I'm watching 36 years later ,what a fantastic meeting and excellent track. I saw Bobby Ball drive a formula 1 stock car around here in 1986.We too lost our speedway track in Bristol back in the early 80's also home to Bristol Rovers FC ,now an IKEA and a Tesco store.😡
Although I went to belle Vue has a Halifax Dukes fan it was really special the zoological gardens next door we never won but it was great speedway atmosphere ❤😊
Used to enjoy our odd visit to the Shay back in the day although I do remember crying as a child when a meeting was 'fogged off'. Amazing track with immense banking and unforgiving steel safety fence. Happy days.

Currently trying to locate the original VHS tape. It's in my loft somewhere. The quality you see here is from a DVD that I made from the tape around 12years ago. If I can find the tape hopefully I can get the thing digitised so that it's easier to record on to a disc without loss of quality.

A truly iconic stadium and a big part of my Speedway and F1 Stock Car support was spent at Hyde Road. Thank you so much for sharing this footage. After 33 years, Hyde Road lives on. X
