1:23 As a fan of Southern Pacific as well as the Texas and New Orleans and Cotton Belt it’s amazing to know that 4449 traveled on the very rails of the TNO sunbeam passenger train back in the 80s I wonder how many years apart that is from when the Sunbeam passenger trains roam those rails between Dallas and Houston Texas
Great video!!! I made a video for my channel at the crossing just before where you started your video. Thanks for doing this to keep the steam spirit alive.
I almost saw it In Big Sandy too, but they said it broke down in Mt. Pleasant and wouldn't be there until 3. and school had to come first. Maybe someday I can get a cab ride. Never know when Big Boy will be coming through East Texas again.
Dude, how is he still pulling passengers when back then he's supposed to be a freighter? And that DIESEL IS STILL THERE?! AFTER THEY INSTALLED THE PTC SYSTEM ON HIM?!?!
@@NeilADahl I still see end screen showing video over something you wrote. I don't use those in my videos. Otherwise a really nicely done shoot. I can't say I've seen 4014 at night till now thanks.
My co-worker amd I drove all the way from McKinney that morning to see 4014. We were just beyond the Trilight at 2:27! We were there for almost 6 hours 🤣 we both got sun burned lol
Excellent video complication! Really appreciate the contributions from everyone. What a magical moment. I really love seeing the warm reception for what is probably the biggest PR boon that Union Pacific has ever thought of.
Jeff, A Freight train had a malfunction between Mt. Pleasant and Big Sandy. Due to the malfunction of the freight the #4014 did not arrive at Big Sandy until 5:45 pm so it was 4 hours and 45 minutes behind schedule. When it left Big Sandy it was in highball mode! Neil
It was delayed leaving Texarkana because of a freight train-vehicle collision. And then that same train had mechanical problems which required a lot of time to get figured out.
She will arrive at Fort Worth on the evening of October 9th and will Depart October 13th, at 8:00 am. Check: www.up.com/heritage/steam/schedule/index.htm for schedule updates. Neil
Oh wow what an absolute GEM of a video! Were you there filming this? I rode here in 2003 and it got demolished shortly after that. I did get to ride the last bull bucked at Kowbell. "Porky". Man what a great video. There's only one other video on RU-vid of the old Kowbell at Mansfield Tx 😢R.I.P.
@@NeilADahl that is really awesome. Do you have any other footage of Kowbell? I wish id taken my mom's camcorder into the backpens and taken some shots. What a nostalgic video.
