I will describe the smell of this soap as a medicinal mixture, like for homeopathy in a pharmacy. Natural, not chemical, as if from a meadow. Lavender, valerian, pepper. I love the smell of this soap, a gift of nature. I was even luckier and bought the tallow version of this legendary German soap, in a light blue box (not dark blue). It's even better.) Speick products are fantastic and very well known and available in Germany 👍🏼 - Also very easy to build up face lather with the shaving stick. In terms of smoothness and scent I even prefer the shaving cream which seems a bit better to me. But for a quick shave or as travelling soap, the shaving stick truely is excellent.
thank you for this compared to the merkur 37c what would be your better choices if at all in order. i am planning to get couple of razors if they matter

I had the same experience with this soap. Great thick lather but lacking in the other departments and the scent was indeed kind of medicinal type of scent to my nose. I mixed it with Cella and I got a nice frankensoap:)

That was one of my worries in the beginning, but talking with the artisans, I found out that if you take good care of them and store them correctly, they can last you a lifetime.
