Cubs payroll is comparable to the Dodgers & Braves, yet they always underperform those teams. That is where the problem is. It's bad organizational management top to bottom. Braves and Dodgers can take scrubs nobody wants and turn them into diamonds. Cubs take players with big names that are unfortunately closer to past their prime than they are in their prime. Dodgers didn't want to resign Bellinger, Braves didn't want Swanson, yet the geniuses at 1060 W Addison thought they were great players and threw a bunch of money at them.

Bernstein thinks that the overrated unproven prospects are gonna come in and rescue the Cubs . How much time ya got ? Can you wait long enough to find out that it ain't gonna happen ? The best thing most of these prospects can do for the Cubs is to get traded for some real proven MLB talent . As far as David Bote goes , he is head and shoulders better than Madrigal . Hoyer buried Bote in Iowa because Theo signed him and Hoyer traded for Madrigal . Hoyer in his own mind believes he's better than Theo and that's just nuts because he's onee of the worst baseball execs in the league . The signing of Swanson when we didn't need a shortstop and then Counsell , after the shameful dismissal of David Ross proves what a snipe he is . I was told by a Cubs employee that Counsell approached the Cubs about the job while Ross was still employed as the manager of the Cubs. If that's true then Counsell is as much a low life as Hoyer.

Dansby signs 7 yr contract at age 28 and hes an "aging SS"...lol. Xander and Trea have much worse contracts as they age. And Xander has already been moved off SS. And Hoerner has a bad arm? Lol. False. He has a good arm but only shows it when absolutely necessary. Saw this when he was at SS everyday.
