It’s not for us to judge the dispatches as they knew full well how bad things were and perhaps those people will not get out. Bless them for not adding to the panic, but doing the best they could. Am sure they are still haunted by the call for help. Praying for all ❤
The Harlem Globetrotters started out as a professional basketball team and in 1939 participated in the first professional basketball championship, losing to the Harlem Rens in the final game. The next year the Globetrotters won the tournament. They changed the sport when, after spending all day traveling to play a game they arrived tired and worn out. During the game the teams best dribbler took over the game while the rest of the team sat down to take a break. It was 1 against 5 and for an entire period he dribbled circles around the other team, they couldn't get the ball away from him. Eventually other teams started using the same tactic which, in 1950, lead to the lowest scoring game in Pro Basketball history, 19 to 18. The next year the league introduced the shot clock. The Harlem Globetrotters had some great players, one of which was Wilt Chamberlain. He played two years (1956-58) at the University of Kansas, after which he joined the Harlem Globetrotters for a year (1958-59). He went to the NBA in 1959, playing with the Philadelphia Warriors. Other outstanding Globetrotters were Reece “Goose” Tatum, Marques Haynes, Clarence Wilson, “Meadowlark” Lemon, Herb “Geese” Ausbie, and Lynette Woodard, the first woman to play for the team.
I'd love to see Rocky Marciano fight Clay, both in their prime for 15 rounds. I'd put good M$ on Rocky knocking out this disrespectful, braggadocio clown. He was also an excellent boxer. I'd love to keep a video of that fight! Rocky all the way.
It's not that vintage. It's not like the Globetrotters go back to Charlie Chaplin's or Louis Armstrong's best work in the 1920s. This footage, featuring the dribbling of Marques Haynes, wouldn't have been made prior to 1950. It could have been extra, unedited footage from either of the Globetrotters' feature films (1951, 1954).
If you are only dealing with two lanes and you continually check your mirrors which you can see when they show a view of Mr. Smith's face you can keep track of what is around you. Most people do not check their mirror on a regular basis which is why blindspots are essential. As to the lane change at an intersection you do not want to do that approaching and intersection because someone may think you are turning or pull out in front of you. By the time you are crossing an intersection you better be aware of whether or not it is safe!
Ever since watching my first LIVE performance of the Globetrotters in 1972, these "Magic Circles" have always been my favorite highlight of their games !
HAHAHA They still played this in 1991 when I was taking my 5-hour course! LMAO! This should be taught even today for all the terrible drivers there are out there!
i've been a home movie buyer for years. the answer is easy. 1. cost. may sound ridiculous & it is. but family do not want to PAY to have the films transferred & today they should be transferred to a movie file as DVDs are compressed & as outdated as the VHS tapes they replaced. 2. they were before their time. when family doesn't KNOW most featured in their home movie there isn't a connection. Doesn't matter if it's family or grandma or even if it's a parent or it IS their parents films they don't care to restore it because they have photos, or who wants to watch a home movie of their parents vacations....it's often a (lame) reason but THEY JUST DON'T CARE & SEE # 1. lastly no one's left. in this case the woman who died in her 90's never married (wearing a red dress best seen at the end with her parents she looks just like her father) no kids & without extended family wanting these (& most don't) it either goes to someone like me or a reseller who may have no interest other than a quick flip or it goes in the landfill.
