Hey guys! I'm Apryl and I create printables for use in junk journaling and other paper crafts. I started this channel to share my work and hopefully inspire others with ideas of how to use your printables combined with other items. Follow along with me as I use a mixture of my own printables, along with purchased, and handmade supplies to create my personal junk journals, folios, and other paper crafting projects.
Some of my videos will be tutorials for kits available for sale and others will be me just playing around and creating something for myself. I've found that creating my own journals gives me inspiration for more printables and enjoy the chance to get away from the computer and craft with my hands.

You are so creative! I'm just about finished with my Haunted House Journal from your kit and am doing exactly what you said here. I'm building on your theme and adding to the story. I'm definitely going to make this to add in. Maybe put it in the signature with the library. My signatures are so thick I'm having trouble with the cover, but working on it. Haven't yet researched the method of adding the eerie music sound though.
Thank you so much for visiting my Etsy shop!😊 I hope you find something that inspires you. If you have any questions or need help with anything, feel free to reach out.
Guys! 👀🤯 This folio is BEAUTIFUL, but the coordinating Spectral Garden Kit (30pg), smaller Spectral Garden (18pg add on), and Spectral History Kit (12pg) are absolutely amazing and I can't wait to get started! Thanks for so much inspiration, GGG!
Thank you so much! 🤩 I'm so glad you're loving the Spectral Garden Kits and feeling inspired! I can't wait to see what you create-I'm sure it'll be amazing! ✨ Happy crafting! 😊
Love this! Am I nuts that I thought I had also seen the 3rd in the series, The Town of Gourd Grove, awhile ago? I know its on ETSY in the bundle because I have it in my collection, but I thought I had seen a flip through?!? But still working on my Haunted House Journal. Haven't looked into the sound for it (remember my suggestion...? I think I was the "other me" that time...don't ask. I'm not tech savvy and keep losing and duplicating accounts, but thought I'd check at Best Buy.)
I believe I did a kit flip through on that one and did intend to create a journal from it but got so close to halloween I moved to my haunted house journal. I was just going through all my fall kits for this weeks email and remembered I never made it! I still have a current journal in the works but have had to move my focus to other parts of my business so i'm not sure its in the cards for this year either. Keep me posted on the sound idea!
This is an excellent video to use as a reference when people ask, “What is a JJ?” I have always thought of my journals as art, both those I make and those I purchase. It’s fun and inspiring to flip through them. Is any journal ever really finished? New subscriber here, and I’m eager to explore your videos. Thanks for sharing 😊
Welcome to my channel! I'm so happy you found this useful. It really is an art with so much room for creativity. I know I can say that I have a whole box full of "finished" journals but any day I could wake up and decide I want to write or draw or paint in them. I'm doing a lot of creative writing right now and any one of those could spark my interest and end up filled to the brim with ideas and stories.
That is a metal vintage light switch plate with a tim holtz metal lock plate placed on top! The lock plate was from this kit amzn.to/4g4nxLA and I picked up the light switch plate at the thrift store. You may be able to find similar vintage style ones online or at the home store.
my next journal will be Edgar Allan Poe themed and it looks like this printables go perfectly with it. Beautiful and affordable printables I love them ❤ greetings from Honduras!
New subbed! Great explanations. I just got a new printer so I can delve into the world of digital paper. Since I live, travel and craft in my RV, getting to a brick and mortar store isn't always convenient, and I am on the move for 9-10 months of the year so having deliveries is out of the question. I am looking for some fun digitals to make a few mini albums and having this overview of the process confirms what I thought- digitals is the way to go! Now to choose jut one kit t start!
Thanks so much for this video! My daughter-in-law asked me today what a junk journal is. She had never heard the term before I mentioned it to her. I’ve been looking for a good example to send to her for hours. Your video is perfect! I know she is going to love junk journaling and your video! You are a real life saver.
I'm happy to hear you found this useful! I know there are lots of different opinions out there and a lot of stress about having to give the craft meaning. I like to focus on just enjoying what I'm doing in the moment and not worry about the rest!
I absolutely love this poignant journal. I have the kit and just watched this again (for the millionth time) and decided that the only thing that could possibly add to it, is a way for the haunting music to start to play anytime my journal is opened...if I ever get it done. Still printing and organizing. You are a tough act to follow but I'm working on it.
oh...my...goodness I LOVE this idea! I've been looking to incorporate some things like this in my current and future journals and hope you don't mind if i steal it sometime down the road. Off the top of my head I'm thinking one of those greeting cards where you can record your own message. There must be a way to incorporate the card or get the insides out of it to add that to the cover of your journal! You have to post an update if you decide to do this!
@@GiggleGlitterGraphics Please steal the idea! I'll never figure it out. But if there is a flat, pocket sized recorder that could be tucked in that would work! Well, guess now I have to research! I'll let you know and you let me know. LOL!
I found "recordable sound chip" on amazon and saved some for future experimenting. They have light sensitive and push button models. There are probably more options as well. Interested to see what you may find!
That gold and blue ribbon is what really made it for me. When I got my supplies I was missing something to tie the two colors together really well. I found it on amazon. The quality is not top notch but honestly for junk journals I don't think that matters! I still have work to do on the cover but I also love it how it is now!
Thank you! The little stories I've been putting in my journals have really brought a whole other level of enjoyment to my page decorating. I love planning out the stories and other little bits and bobs to go with them.
It worked out really well and the journal lies so flat when I open it! I'm already plotting some fun things for the inside. Hopefully I can work on it some more this weekend.
I'll be fussy cutting by hand. My Cricuit is old school! But going to girlfriend's and while she works on her Glue Book, I'll be fussy cutting! Have a question, In this video, are most or all paper or cardstock? It would be hard to roll cardstock! I'm printing the pockets and some of the cards mostly on cardstock, but cant decide on the Snippets. Thinking the cluster ones good on paper, but bands and long tucks on cardstock? Thanks.
That sounds like such a fun get together! For the snippet strip I used paper for everything except the fussy cuts. I like to do those in cardstock so they are not so delicate at that size. For the junk journal kits I also use paper for things like tucks and pockets. I use a 32lb copy paper (linked in the video description) so if your paper is thinner you may like a light cardstock better so that those items dont tear when you are taking things in and out. Hope this helps!
Hi. New subbie here. Definitely going to sort thru my stencils to try this technique. Thank you sharing. So…the the glass pan full of coffee mixture was simply to reload your spray bottle ?? You didn’t soak any full sheet of plain paper in there ?? Or is that a Part 2 video… 🤍🤍🤍
Thanks for the sub! It's been awhile since this video but I bet I was multitasking that day. I'm sure I used the pan later on to soak full sheets in. If you just wanted to do only the spray you could totally mix up your coffee right in a spray bottle!
@@ScrapperGenLa if you are asking where they are located on my computer I use new names folders to organize all my files. Your files should print the same regardless of what folder they are located in on your computer!
I don't often show off the lined side of my mat! I have a faux wood contact paper on the reverse side that I normally film on and lately I've been considering switching to black kraft paper for easier cleanup.
Just discovered your channel, IMMEDIATELY subscribed, on my second video and THEILLED to hear you mention Natasa from Treasure Books! I've followed her channel for a few years. She makes BEAUTIFUL treasures and I love how organized her tuts are. Your digital kits are amazing and I'm looking forward to finding more inspiration from your maker-style.
Thank you so much! Natasa is so very inspirational and I can always count on her channel for great ideas to get me out of a rut or tell me what to do with something I have lying around.
I just bought a cricut and this answered everything I needed to know. I had the basics but the few problems I was running into are fixed. You’re amazing!!!
