I have a large bag that’s my “sock bag” and I throw all the singles in there and every once and awhile I go pair them. But even that day there were no pairs 🤦🏼♀️
Thanks for the video! POTS was the first sign of my Ehlers Danlos syndrome. It took a lot of trial and error on medications before finding what works for me. Clonidine/Guanfacine and Adcirca are what ended up to be my combo. I also take Pyridostigmine for my EDS digestive motility issues, but that also helps a bit with the POTS as well. It seems counterintuitive to take medications which lower blood pressure when POTS causes blood pressure crashes, but these medications actually stabilize my blood pressure. With EDS, it's dangerous to take medications which jack up blood pressure. Wearing compression calf sleeves like the marathon runners wear also helps, and I sometimes get saline infusions during the hot months of the year.
Hi, Madison! My 15 year old daughter has lupus and we suspect POTS. She has an appointment at UAB on the 6th. We are getting a lab puppy in December and I'm wondering if a "regular" person like me can train a service dog. I have no idea where to start.
Hi! I’m a completely regular person and I know a lot of other people self train too! I would definitely recommend working with a trainer who basically trains you to train your puppy! I have a trainer who specializes in service dog work and right now I meet with her every other week and we go out and about and she gives me tips, shows me what I need to work on at home, etc. it’s a lot less expensive and you’re still getting to be hands on/forming that bond but you also have support if you need it! But for the first six months, I highly encourage you to just let your puppy be a puppy and work on socializing, desensitization and basic obedience! Training a puppy too soon can lead to burn out and ultimately them washing! There’s also a lot of owner trained service dog groups, sometimes they can be brutal but they also have good info!!
My sis was diagnosed with it years ago. She says yoga and massages help a lot. She is able to work full time from home. She has I think 5 cats now , 2 large dogs and fish and rabbits. She goes to church every Sunday , has 1-2 game nights with friends every week . She seems to be doing pretty well and handling it well. She doesn’t ever talk about it though. Not sure if she has a very mild form of it but she never complains and sometimes I forget she even has it bc she seems to be doing so well with it.
Did any of the doctors or their staff happen to inform you how painful recovery would be. Hahaha, just kidding. I already know they absolutely did not. “ you might feel a little uncomfortable, you will probably feel “ sore”. Then on top of that so many are scared to death to prescribe adequate pain meds since the so called opioid/ opiate crisis.
@@MadisonStrong TMS is chronic fatigue/fibro. There's no physical basis for the pain. It happens when the body is overwhelmed with stress to the point it can no longer cope so it MUST stop you from moving by whatever means it has. Just take a note and explore it if you ever need to after pursuing your current treatment options. Wishing you the best for your healing journey.
@@theseventh5204 I’m saying I don’t have it because this video is two years old and I’ve been diagnosed with hEDS and arthritis. so the pain isn’t from emotions and the chronic fatigue is from POTS and the stress that is put on my body. But I do appreciate your comment and you reaching out!! Thank you!
Im hEDS and hate it but the good side is that you don't get wrinkles till ur like really old and that your skin is super soft (im like my friends soft toy)
Do what you gotta do for you. I can’t imagine how exhausting it is with the new puppy and managing your health and trying to start a business and blog all the same time. He’s super cute by the way. Just out of curiosity what made you decide to go with a puppy rather then program dog?
Hey! I’m so sorry for the late reply!! It’s definitely been a whirlwind around here lately, Duckie is getting so much more energy. and thank you! I decided to go with a puppy because it’s a lot cheaper. It’s about $15,000 cheaper than a program dog. I also wanted to be able to bond with him while he is young which I wouldn’t get that opportunity since you get program dogs around 2 years of age. Also, program dogs are “blanket trained”, whereas with his training, he will learn tasks that are specific to my needs. Plus program dogs usually have long wait periods that could be 5+ years!
Happy birthday Maddie 🥳 Your puppy is too cute Don't worry about delaying your business, we get it. Your health comes first. Be gentle with yourself friend 🌻
Thank you!! I’m so sorry for replying so late. The days are just completely flying by and running together. Thank you so much for your support, it means to much to me!! 🩷

Great video l enjoyed watching it happy birthday, duckie is so precious ,you got this ! with duckie and starting your new business you just do what you can ❤
Thank you!! I’m sorry for replying so late. My days are running together and I didn’t even realize how long it’s been since I checked my comments. I can’t wait to show y’all more of Duckie and the business!
I finally caught up on your vlogs!😅 Ducky is adorable.😊 Eloise being jealous whenever the attention isn’t on her is just like my dachshund. She can’t stand when there are babies around because she doesn’t get attention. An idea for your shop would be matching T-shirt’s for dogs and their owners. A T-shirt and a bandanna or jacket for the dog would be fun, especially for those who own service dogs and put clothes on their dogs to get used to the vest.😊
Thank you!! And Eloise defintiely always has to be the center of attention!! 😂 And oh my gosh! I love that idea! Eventually I want to start to learn how to sew bandanas so that is a perfect idea!! Thank you!!
Hi friend I know it's been awhile. I celebrated my birthday back in april it was great spent time with friends family. But I watched the vlogs I missed. I'm doing OK health wise one day at a time as we say. I missed you my friend you always be my hero Madison strong. I'm wishing nothing but the best with your puppy service dog so happy for you. I see you hit 1k subscribers so awesome. 🫶
I wish you the best with your SD! About 5 yrs ago I thought about utilizing a training school near where I lived that taught handlers and their dogs to be SD teams. After much research, I knew my flare ups and fatigue was going to be a problem. I have 2 charities listed as beneficiaries for my Trust, one of them being a SD organization. They actually offered me a SD and it killed me to decline it. I told them it would irresponsible of me to accept it, because I knew I did not have the energy to fulfill the dogs exercise needs. It was an internal turmoil, because I really feel a SD would be a huge asset. If I didn't live alone, and could count on someone stepping in on the 'flare up/bad days'....I would have accepted it in a heartbeat. On a side note...I have a 6.5# YorkiPoo pet, who actually alerts me to cardiac events - so that's super helpful. I never trained her to do this, she just picked up on them over time. Now she alerts me and is consistent with my Smart watch. After she started doing this, I realized I was having events without symptoms. She would alert me, I'd check my watch...and sure enough she was right! It really amazed me. All sorts of prayers and positive vibes being sent your way while you develop your team. I know it's a long haul/commitment for the years to come, but you've done your research and know what it's involved! 👍💕 🐕🦺
That was so brave and selfless of you to decline the service dog. As much as service dogs are to help us, I totally believe we need to put their needs first. I live with my parents so when I'm not feeling great, my mom does step in to help with Duckie like making sure he goes outside and doesn't get into trouble. That's so cool your dog has learned to do that on her own. That's such a special thing! Thank you so much for your kindness!!
Thank you!!! You are so sweet! My pfp was taken in Hilton Head Island, one of my favorite places! And I knowww, I can't believe I'm so close to 1k! it's so wild to me!
