Took Foxy to my locals yesterday. Somehow I got second after fighting Red Zoro small cost, then a Boa, and finally a B/Y Luffy. In the Finals I bricked, did not see any of the Foxy Pirate cards in my deck and only saw my Kid blockers, Sanji blockers, and the Reiju I was running. But the fact that I took down real meta decks with this one is was just so much fun.
i would check the optcg reddit to get access to the simulator and play there a bit! once you get a feel for what deck you want to play, use the website tcgplayer to purchase the cards you need. if you need help learning how some leaders work, we have leader guides from leaders from OP06, EB01 and rolling out OP07 leaders right now which may help
Thanks for making vids. As a new player it’s really helpful. If you have any like “beginner language vids” that would be awesome. Lots of lingo and jargon I don’t understand yet
Hi I'm the Oden player, if you are talking about the final round you are probably right. I probably should have ko'd the brook with ryuma, rest the lucci and attack into it with lead. But if he countered out of the brook swing he probably would have countered that too. Then Sabo next turn denied KO.. 🤦♂️
@@live_light Yes that is what i meant It might have not mattered but it might have. I also play oden as a pure wano deck at locals and dont think hes bad lol . I liked your idea tho
I think doing this again but without meta staples would be a super fun idea. But keeping it competitive also made the video nice. Shows how woke cards can warp things despite the Leader being bonkers. Could also do a trash leader round 2 with ones that weren't selected for this video.
love boa, want to main her but honestly the warlord package works better on the doffy and croc leader. if they wanted this to be for boa they needed more warlords to bounce/bottom characters like op01 9c mihawk. i did see they added law with bounce effect on the new croc starter =/
I also really love boa! It's definitely my pet deck! That being said, it's really hard to beat a PERFECT Doflamingo scry 5 turn. with a 3 don (while swinging 7k with leader) commitment on Doflamingo to cheat out jinbe, it feels definitely oppressive. Those rested characters you bring out definitely serve as a blocker if your opponent needs to backswing into your board so sometimes it feels like their tempo is purely better. But I like to think that there are benefits to hard playing your warlords by making your opponent burn 2 removal instead of 2 don attach onto leader and swinging + 1 removal to get rid of your stuff! There's also a lot of other tools to help give you bounce (although you're right most are unsearchable) but the 2k counter nature of your warlords also really helps! I suggest playing goalie with your 2k's at the beginning making them really work for the 1st life card getting your hand size down and then building it back up
I just finished the video. It was fun. Once I saw that Sakazuki was in the tournament, I already knew he would win. While he likely got voted because he is the worst black leader, the generic black cards are just too good that they override his ability. We had a local tournament last year that had a similar concept, all Meta decks were banned. Sakazuki just dominated it so they decided to switch it up and ban black as well from the non-Meta tournaments.
yeah 100% knew it was almost a lock for it the second the results came in, but knowing we wanted to publish the data i couldnt do anything about it. that's why we revealed it last in quarter finals xD
because the Issho leader had a don on it reducing the cost of franky (and all characters his opp controlled) by 1. meaning franky was a legal 4 cost target
Enjoyed the video but if you really wanted to do the worst leader video you should have had all the leaders who lost move on in the tourney and the champ would have been the deck with no wins.
That's because it's not a worst leaders tournament, it's literally framed as being the best of the worst. It's a "cursed" tournament where we're subjecting players to playing bad leaders
This was a blast to be a part of and I'm really grateful for the opportunity to participate (though I still have nightmares about 9 drop Zoro). I know a lot of work went into making this so I'm really happy to see the final results! Looking forward to what you guys come up with next!
Great video! My list is similar, but I decided on 4c Boa as a blocker instead of Doffy, just preference, but it helps draw more cards, and I also tech'd in the 4c Luffy Promo from the Sealed Battle event, or the Live action premium bandai set. Its a good way to remove a body when your opponent has very few choices to pick from.
The Iceburg game was a perfect example of how horrible having a leader that can't attack is. They were ahead the whole game putting them to no life until the board was cleared and there was no way to finish the game without a rush character like Kaido.
Thanks for the great content! So fun to watch these games and everyone was so nice playing it. That showed also how black cards are overwhelming... But Alex deserved the crown!
@@JoyBoysTCG Hahaha I can understand, if you just look at him effect, it sounds really bad, but the black package is too powerful, don't need to rely on leader effects...
