If the puppies do actually form groups of the same color, I would guess that they are using smell more than sight to do so. At that age, their sense of smell is far more developed than sight. It is possible that there is a slight difference in smell because of color. Color would also provide for slightly different temperatures.

I got both of mine at 8 weeks old. Personally I think the younger you get them, the better they bond with you and you can also raise them and train them to be the best dog you want them to be. However, it is hard work raising a small puppy and important you put in the work, especially with a mini dachshund as they can be very stubborn, so for an older person I'd suggest finding an adult mini dachshund that maybe needs rehoming. Hope that helps 😊
Our female dachshunds doesn't really have a big tummy and it has been like 2 weeks or so? 😢 But she doesn't eat much and her nips are swollen still... We aren't sure if she's even preggy or not😢 I'm worried about her
Hi, what do you mean 2 weeks or so? 2 weeks since she tied with a male? I've always found that my dachshund took 4 weeks atleast before she had a preggy tummy
@@puppylovevids Yes, it had been 2-3 weeks ever since she mated with our male Dachshund, I get overly cautious about her health but I guess it's normal for them to have a small tummy- I always make sure to at least give her milk if she refuse to eat..
@@cxulegnagrass5274 ok yes don't expect to see her tummy grow until she's 4 weeks pregnant atleast. Even if mine was having 4 pups or 7 pups, I never could see her belly showing signs of growing until atleast 4 weeks pregnant. It's common for them to lose their appetite and even experience morning sickness (this typically happens at 4 weeks pregnant and only usually lasts for a week). Something I found that really helped our daxie with her lose of appetite when she was pregnant, was raw feeding her (raw beef, lamb etc). She always ate this happily. I also mixed it in with her royal canine pregnancy biscuits to ensure she was getting the essential minerals and vitamins she needed (especially calcium to avoid eclampsia). I suggest you speak to your local vet if you have any concerns or questions tho as I am not a trained vet, but all the best and I hope this helps.
