I am tired of reading bullshit that the Greeks learned philosophy and mathematics in Egypt.Science is based on written evidence and not in theories. All this ancient knowledge is written in greek and every single ancient historian only mention greeks using it.If you manage to find one historical evindence that proves me wrong take it to a scientific conference and receive your nobel prize...If I had studied in Harvard and I came back to Greece to teach what I learned, this knowledge wouldn't seize to exist in Harvard. If what you say is true how did it vanish from Egypt.
Obviously, you are not a historian nor, are you a student of history. Open your mind and ask questions before trying to teach people what you really don't know about.
This documentary said nothing about what he did. You would expect that they wouldnt have enough time to tell you all the science which is now being used in all the gadgets you see people walking around with.. That it took 2500 years for people to realize it. This is an insult to him from all the research i've done on Pythagoras. How could this Documentary be so piss poor?? A lot of what we see in modern physics, quantum mechanics,etc.. I mean, this guy had mapped out waveform oscillation and proposed those vibrations from sound into light, and our science community will take another 20 years to realize he was right about that to. This video was a BIG disappointment. Keep reading about Pythagoras, you will blow your mind as you see his science unfold today.
Could you recommend another Pythagoras documentary that is worth watching , i am only starting to learn about Pythagoras so this documentary was helpful to me
pminner1 EVERYTHING ??? hahahaha you re so ignorrant and uneducated.Tell me please an ancient egyptian writer or philosofer ot scientist. Only one! One name please! Egypt indeed gave a lot of knowledge to the Greeks and the Semites. But not all the knowledge. Just the small first steps. Greeks used to recognise this. Thats why the two nations had so good relations . When Alexander the Great invaded Egypt, the egyptians greeted him as God. And he himself had so much respect for Egypt that he asked to be buried there.
johnnyQkindom888 Plus everybody knows that egyptians came initially from Asia. Their color discribed as brown and their faces were look more like today's Arabs. Plus the DNA tests shows that they had no relation with african american or west african people.
When Pythagoras was in Egypt he studied with the priests. He was initiated in to the mystery schools and taught in histories and philosophies. When he came back to Greece he brought this knowledge back to western civilization and had his whole world view changed.
pminner1 1) He is a significant historical figure because he was the ONLY Western Egyptian Initiate. So when Pythagoras brought all this wisdom to Greece.... the Western world attributed this wisdom to him. 2) Any contributions of his followers (even after his death) were attributed to Pythagoras. That was the culture at the time. 3) During the second half of his life he established a university-community (the 1st Secret Society in the western world) He re-established the Initiatory culture of Egypt in Greece. (He had 600 of the wealthiest families at the time backing him) The people of his community literally perceived him as a 'Satguru". Which means a God (AKA Pharaoh) Only devout geniuses seeking wisdom & enlightenment were allowed into the community. The "worthy" were eventually Initiated as "Enlightened Scientists" & then placed into strategic positions of influence within the society. Those allowed into the inner circle had to give up everything to be with him for the rest of their lives. It is accurate to call him the most important "founding forefather" of Western civilization. Prior to Pythagoras... Greece was just myth & barbarianism. But after 23 years as a scholar in the Egyptian Priesthood..... & another 12 years in the schools of Persia.... He brought ALL this wisdom to the West.... & established a civilization.
Oh please. The basis of Marx's system is that our experience of a real, material and biological reality provides the context for our ideas about that reality. That's what historical *materialism*, is. In other words, the mind conforms to the world (because it is part of the world), before the world can conform to the mind (typically conservative/religious/capitalist idealisms). What's "surreal" is the civic theology of hero worship and mysticism that non-Marxists try to dress up as reason.
Marx and subsequent (Marxist) theorists (NOT communist) rested on the whole idea that social reality, what is experienced inter-subjectively, is shaped by external factors which can be structured in a way that threatens independent thinking from arising. So Pythagoras = transcendental lens on the world Marx = socio-political lens on the world The conflation of the two in the documentary is no more than US propaganda being slipped in, not fact. Don't believe everything you see in a documentary
the documentary is clearly denigrating Marxism, without calling Pythagoras a Marxist. And it is an error to conflate Marxism and Communism. Mao was no Marxist. Pythagoras was no Marxist. And the idea of Communism (20th century connotations removed) probably counts amongst one of the oldest forms of political association - i.e. before Pythagoras. Pythagoras tried to uncover the rational Truth behind reality, resting on a word of Ideas as being separate from that of humans.
Pythagoran theorem has been pushed back to 4000+ BCE adding 2000 years!!! IF you do a seach of: >>> ox theory of everything raphael <<< scroll down to post #10 you find your evidence
Thanks for uploading this documentary! It was very interesting for me to discover that most ideas like sharing, peace, and equality not new at all and came from one man, Pythagoras. Amazing! Could you upload more videos about great philosophical thinkers?
