Hey SAL, Love the bluetooth mechs; However any chance we can get an API this year for my own custom home automation projects?

Hi Tradie Trev, thanks for your message. Unfortunately this data is unavailable for public release. However if you have a particular project with PIXIE, we would welcome the opportunity to arrange for one of our technical support engineers to give you a call, maybe there is another design option?. cheers SAL marketing

Hi, I need help understanding the manual override function and how to work it. Please could you point me in the right direction for that or an instructional manual?
@salnational
@salnational 10 месяцев назад
MANUAL OVERRIDE: To enable ‘Manual Override’ or ‘Permanent On’, simply switch off and on twice within six seconds. The lights will now stay on permanently. To return to ‘Automatic Mode’, switch the unit off and after ten seconds switch on again. The unit will resume normal operation.

When are we going to get an API or Matter support for Pixie SAL? We require interoperability to make your products sell, you're limiting your client base.

Hi Tradie Trev, thanks for your feedback. Our development team are well aware of THE MATTER and at present we do not have a sustainable option that meets our expectations. It is definitley an exciting WIP.

What about all of your other hibay accessories? Like your Dali driver, remote & different reflectors and bracket?

Not a smart lighting choice when you're retrofitting with the terminal block on one end.

Thanks TT, definitely keep that in mind for MKII

Hi TT, just a quick clarification - the terminal block is located in the centre of the product, the video pointer is simply a highlight

How low can they go?! 10%? Are these the cheaper alternative to the ecogems? I like your ecogems because of the flicker free driver, why can't you put the same driver in the lot of your range?

Hi Tradie Trev, The WAVE series works very well (less than 10% dim) with the SAL dimmer SDA450U/LED www.sal.net.au/products/smart-controls-and-electrical-accessories/electrical-accessories/SDA450U_LED or the PIXIE Smart dimmer www.sal.net.au/products/smart-controls-and-electrical-accessories/smart-lighting-controls/SDD300BTAM. Extending the flicker free function to all LED downlights is a great idea, it just adds unnecessary cost to products used in areas beyond NSW and QLD regions where ripple induced flicker is not experienced.

Can these be installed into Clipsal Iconic switch plates? I'm having nothing but headaches with Iconic dimmers and 90mm downlights from various manufacturers - even with SAL downlights. Clipsal tech support just say "install a load correction device" - at $44 a pop plus installation, this is a piss-weak response from Clipsal considering their iconic dimmers are the only ones that fit the iconic plates.

Missed opportunity to use your bluetooth "sal pixie" mesh tech. Hint hint R&D, I know I don't like waiting around when e-lights can test and make the report themselves like Ektor does :)

I just got a couple of these to try out... how on earth do you change the colour temp? There's no switch on the unit and no instructions included on how to do it.
@salnational
@salnational 3 года назад
Hi TJ, The colour temperature can be selected via the SAL PIXIE app (and dimmer) or via a standard circuit switch , details can be found in the installation instructions via this web link - www.sal.net.au/products/interior-led-lighting/led-downlights/TRIGEM-PLUS-S9842CS

Could we please see the internal components on how they differ to your other pixie dimmers? I'm pretty keen to learn how you've done the ripple rejection "SFI" coupled with your light fittings. What happens when I put a SFI dimmer on a random dimmable downlight?
@salnational
@salnational 3 года назад
Hi TT thanks for your message. The design elements of the SFI technology are very different to the PIXIE technology and they are understandably guarded (and patent pending) by SAL. Hence the requested detail is not available to be released at this point of time. Unfortunately if a SFI dimmer is paired with a non SFI product, the filtering does not function.
@salnational
@salnational 2 года назад
Hi Tradie Trev, thanks for your mail. As you could imagine, the (patent pending ) design is commercial in confidence and design specs are not for publication. In response to your question, to resolve the ripple interference, the installation must use the combination of a SFI dimmer AND SFI downlight, a random downlight will not correct the interference.
@TradieTrev
@TradieTrev 3 года назад
How does a SFI dimmer (apart from being bluetooth) work? I'm really interested to see the AC waveform compared to traditionally methods.
@salnational
@salnational 3 года назад
Thank you for your mail. The control of the ripple induced flicker is achieved by the combination of the SFI dimmer AND the SFI downlight. More information is available via our FAQ's located on the SAL web www.sal.net.au/faq

Hi I am thinking of putting Pixie smart lighting in the home we are building but wondering can you customize the app so that lighting “fades” on a timer? For example so that it comes on like a sunrise in the morning and not just “on” at 100% brightness? Thank you!
@salnational
@salnational 4 года назад
Hi Taylor, sorry for the delay in our reply - just saw your message. The simple answer is YES, you can control the level of switch ON via the PIXIE app.
