Here Obama promised to renegotiate NAFTA, and that promise was lauded by liberals. A few months into his administration he quietly announced he wasn't going to try to renegotiate NAFTA, but he didn't explain why he was breaking his promise. But we did hear during his campaign that while he was suckering potential voters with this promise, he was behind the scenes promising Canada that he wouldn't actually attempt this. So it's clear he just blatantly lied, as he did with most of his campaign promises. Eight years later Trump promised to renegotiate NAFTA, and liberals viciously attacked him, saying it was a stupid move and a sign of his ineptness and authoritarian bent (I don't know how the hell you can reason THAT point, but, then, liberals are never logical). And at long last, Trump fulfilled Obama's '08 promise for him.
