This is a very wholesome video, it shows that many german soldiers weren't evil mindless monsters, but instead portrays them as human beings, as they should be. This is one of the best depictions of ww2 iv'e ever seen, it's better than some movies iv'e seen, and they have millions of dollars to spend and they still can't get it right lol. I hope you guys can make more amazing content for us to enjoy in the future! ❤
After watching this short clip, it was really clear that these three German troops didn’t want to kill the Americans and that they both were getting along very well 😌. But there’s one American troop that was just nothing but an ignorant fool to the innocent German troop
I think the tragedy of this excellent film and of war itself is the absolute waste of young men, on both sides, that had to occur before this acceptance and understanding could take place. I think that if young men could get to know each other BEFORE their leaders could poison their young minds with propaganda, fear and hatred there would be far less war, maybe no war at all. I can't remember who said this but I read once that "An enemy is just a man you haven't had the chance to make your friend." I love all warriors who fought and died in every war, from every nation as long as in their hearts they felt they were doing the right thing for their nation, their families and their fellow soldiers but I have nothing but contempt for the politicians and military leadership that conspire to wage war for political and economic reasons with no thought of honor, justice or a lasting peace.
It's quite a new perspective, as I grew up watching Hollywood films where they were mostly portrayed as a faceless enemy, indistinguishable from good or bad; they just needed to be destroyed for the denouement of the heroic protagonist and a black-and-white narrative.
There might be those haters that say "oh the americans executed everyone they got"... But my Grandfather was one of those that got captured during the end of war. And he had nothing but good words for them. He told a story very close to this actually. Mein Opa Hans Stamer fought on the Battlefield of WW2 and as one of few, gave up an surrendered. It saved his live and he got to know hie "enemy" by then. In war, everyone is your enemy, but at the glimpse of peace, everyone is your friend. Thats what he told me. amen to that
I believe the spirit of this film is true. My father fought in the Philippines WW2 1944-45. He was among the first Americans to enter Japan. He said the Filipino people were exceptionally friendly and he adored them. But he said the Japanese were the most civilized people he had encountered in his life. He admired them greatly. To the end of his life, he never had a bad thing to say about them. The enemy are people like us. Don't forget that.
@@jgrAnimations23 The casualty figures in Nanjing were likely inflated for anti-Japanese propaganda. The Chinese killed more of their own people in WWII than the Japanese did. I doubt that you will believe that, but you could try to research it for yourself. For example, review the 1938 Yellow River flood. The Nationalists blew up the dam. The initial casualties were lower than the ultimate casualties due to famine and disease. More than 500,000 died ultimately due to this human caused catastrophe. The Nationalists caused the flood to stop a Japanese advance. The Nationalists claimed 12 million Chinese died as a result, but they blamed the Japanese for making it necessary. Claiming 12 million was eventually acknowledged to be way too high, even by the Communists who placed the deaths at about 900,000. Using this same metric of propaganda inflated deaths, it should be easier for you to understand why the Japanese claim that far less than 250,000 died in Nanjing whereas China continues to claim the higher number. No one is disputing what happened there. But the numbers are unreliable. As for the Japanese being the most civilized people on Earth, I have been there and worked with Japanese. I stand by that statement. For barbaric war crimes, watch the film "Fog of War" about Robert McNamara, who said we had committed war crimes against Japan. And Korea. And Vietnam. And Iraq. And Afghanistan. And since forever. Just ask the Native Americans about American military war crimes. They know our history better than any other people on the planet. War is hell, said General Sherman. If you don't want to suffer the effects of war, then don't make war. I stand by Sherman too, the man who led an invading army against my native South. If you hate war like I do, then don't do it.
I love how it portrays the Wehrmacht soldier like a decent man, many of the Third Reich's Regular ground soldiers during the Second World War were very decent men, and they deserved to be treated as humans when captured, this perfectly shows the human side of a war. Oh and by the way I am Polish, and yes I am saying that.
Short film that gets to the point. No matter what war, if you let them, soldiers don't shoot at each other, they want to get to know each other. (In WWI, soldiers had to be FORCED to resume combat operations after Christmas 1914!
Well done. I heard stories like this from my uncles. A german soldier jumped on to my uncle during a US bombing on our town ( in Holland europe) just to protect him with his body. My uncle was a litlle kid by then. I don't blame the US pilots because they where bombing an airoplane factory. But hey, when an unknown German soldier is willing to offer his life for a strange kid, man, thats a real man, nothing to do with being a soldier. That changed my perspective of history.
Same Germans were not monsters they were forced to fight the German soldiers had to carry out orders as told they could not do anything about it I know they we’re against us but they literally had to
Worked with a ww2 vet, they had captured several German soldiers but instead of taking the time to take them back to headquarters, the solders were led into the woods and massacred at the order of the Sgt leading the group so they wouldn't slow down the advance.
Ok, nice film but now back to work, wagies ! Gotta support that Ukraine against the monsters that are the Russians. Ukraine good, Russia evil ! Hush, hush !
Aber man merkt schon, dass die Schauspieler nit gescheit Deutsch können, das soll jetzt nit irgendwie negativ gemeint sein, aber ist Deutsch für andere echt eine schwere Sprache, würd mich mal interessieren.
Usually it's the average people that fought and died. They're not the ones who give pretty speeches and then order someone else to fight their war. It looks like some people haven't learned the lesson from WWII. Take the current Russia-Ukraine war, Putin gives pretty speech and talk about defending mother Russia. Meanwhile he ordered young Russians who haven't the chance to live their lives yet to their death.
