What a lovely play that well explains the conditions that existed on the Channel Islands during the German occupation!

These days Germans during WW2 are always referred to as Nazi’s in documentaries etc, very PC ie. It was mad extremists and not Germans who were involved in the war. Not the same people or nation as the EU lead country.

Unfortunately the German people were coerced by propaganda to believe that Hitler was sent by God to save them! They then Democratically elected Hitler to run the country! This is the danger that autocrats pose now in both the US and the UK!

This is not how a mother acts upon learning of her son's death. Actors should hang out in an emergency department if they want to portay this situation authentically.

Serious gaps in the plot. I have sailed on a Swedish ship, long distance, and the plot, including Swedish wife, and general demeanour of the crew, is ridiculous!😂

I agree,it keeps me up on some nights. They are patriotic and love America, but they don’t have real knowledge of certain people that can just underhandedly gain the ultimate power of our country. Their naïveté is astounding sometimes!😮

Love America? Sark is a Feudal Fiefdom off the coast of the British isles. It’s a crown dependency of the United Kingdom in Europe, thousands of miles from America. Dame Sibyl was firmly Sarkian British… her husband Robert was a yank but he was Seigneur of Sark only by jure uxoris

Unfortunately, sound volume is almost mute. I had looked forward to videos about various islands & sea coast posts like Is Sark, since reading about the various coastal occupations by Germany to no purpose, then abandoning & failing to feed their own troops.

John Nettles from the former detective series 'Bergerac' worked a lot on the UK channel islands. He investigated a lot and found that the local authorities was a bit too German friendly during the German occupation during WW2. He received several threats from residents/ancestors of recidents because of this, but he found out what he found out, so threats doesn't change that facts.

His so called research was a joke. It was 99% with 1% of truth. Thats what upset people. He did not get death threats from channel iselanders, bit the odd one from nuts .
