How’s this compared to a Custom X? Have a Custom / Indoor S / BSOD and my custom is starting to wear down a bit and am thinking of replacing it with a custom x or a super doa. I really like the custom but with a little bit more pop and snap it would be amazing
@snowboardingdays
@snowboardingdays 7 часов назад
If you're looking at the Camber Custom X... that's a beast of a board! Guessing you were looking at the Flying V? The Super DOA is more similar to the Custom X FV. It's notably stiffer than the Indoor Survival or regular DOA, but not to the degree it's unmanageable. It's a weird feeling being significantly lighter but still more responsive! Really depends what version of the X you're looking at TBH. Both probably have more pop overall, but are significantly more work to access it. The Super DOA sends a pretty decent pop from pretty minimal input.
@TRIKushbeachside
@TRIKushbeachside 6 часов назад
@@snowboardingdays no no I’m looking for a full camber board to replace the custom. I’m a decent boarder but I life in FL and there isn’t a good snowboard store that’s closer than 2 hrs from where I live.
@snowboardingdays
@snowboardingdays 6 часов назад
@@TRIKushbeachside ah I’m with you! The Super DOA is hybrid though… which is what confused me? If you want true camber then the Custom X is a solid option. I’m not a huge fan personally - great for hard charging and carving up groomers, but way less versatile and requires a lot of finesse to take through a park lap - though is admittedly great for XL jump line and spins. I’m more of an aggressive all-mountain rider who wants the option to have a lazy mess around on side hits when I feel like it, which the Super DOA is better for. If you’re looking for a hard-charging, carving/freeride board, the Custom X is better.
@TRIKushbeachside
@TRIKushbeachside 5 часов назад
@@snowboardingdays I’m not really that big of a park guy and I kind of got the indoor for the smaller park type of stuff I would do or just wanting to go do little side hits here and there etc.. really grabbed it to work on presses/butters and stuff like that. My custom is noticeably heavier than both of my Capita boards, I know the Cust X has a really light core but curious if the Super DOA is lighter? Basically the super DOA is a really poppy deck that has decent hold but the Cust X with the full camber is even snappier but a lot more work to load etc.. this is the board I’ll be using to crush groomers and launch off rollers and so on. I’m a fast rider when it comes to riding style, I’m usually going 50-60 mph when the runs are nice etc.. I do love some solid carving runs but I’d say I’m more straight line/ high speed carves in general.

Whats your board when you go to Japan? I go annually and last year I took simple pleasures 56 with black labels. Great ride, my favourite was the skipjack 52 camber back in 2020, I had the first years Burton fish 3d but I didn’t like the edge hold on the snake tracks back to lift. Thinking either jones storm chaser 52, Burton forager 160, or maybe niseko pleasures 56for 25
@snowboardingdays
@snowboardingdays 7 дней назад
Nice! Where do you stay/ride in Japan? I'm actually a big fan of the Fish - though never tried the 3D. I've found that short/fat works best for me in Japan. The Back/Slash is certainly up there. On my first trip out there I mainly rode the Rossignol Sushi (for lower gradient treelines) and the Rossignol Sashimi (for bigger stuff). Highly recommend both, but especially the Sashimi - more versatile. From your options, the Storm Chaser would be my preference. It's a little unsteady on hard pack and heading back to the resort, but it's insane through tight trees and will handle Japan's mellow gradients well.

Hello my friend I like very much the new super doa..I’m 183 height 96 kg and my size boot is 45 Europe..what size board super doa is for me…???I think 158 or 158wide
@snowboardingdays
@snowboardingdays 9 дней назад
Hi there. Agreed. It's a beauty. Do you normally ride a wide board? At your boot size (about 11.5 US), I'd normally recommend mid-wide or wide boards. With a high-end board like this, you won't notice too much difference with edge to edge transitions on the wide, but you'll be able to get really low when carving without fear of booting out. You are pushing the weight range a little for both the 158 and 158W, which may affect the flex slightly, but it's a fairly stiff board so should be more than capable of handling it. TLDR: 158W :)

Seems like the hammock highback is not always a good idea. I bought a pair of Genesis X Reflex size L in 2017 and it was impossible to center my size 13 boots. I had to write multiple emails to Burton to make them admit (and realise) that there was a problem. They then sent me a pair of Malavita highbacks to make the binding work with my boots. In the end I prefer my old Cartels 2011...

Is this supposed to replace the Berzerker? How do they compare to each other?
@snowboardingdays
@snowboardingdays 28 дней назад
The Bezerker is still alive and kicking. Love that board. I agree though that the more they add to their lineup, the more overlap we’re starting to see. Particularly as the “PIG” lineup covers most areas now too. The Berzerker is obviously more traditionally shaped, more versatile and sort of a “big mountain all-mountain” vibe. The Peace Seeker is more directional, volume-shifted and leans further towards powder. I’d consider the Bezerker as a one board quiver for an aggressive all-mountain freeride rider, whereas the Peace Seeker is more of a quiver board alongside an all-mountain deck. Hope that makes sense?

Wonder what size you would suggest for me as i fall into the 142 and 148 category, i am around 5ft 8, weigh around 65kg and wear a uk 6.5 not sure if the 148 would be too wide but then if the 142 would be too short
@snowboardingdays
@snowboardingdays Месяц назад
It's tricky when you fall into multiple possible sizes. Personally, I'd be going for the 148 in your specs. Your weight is towards the upper limit of the 142, and you're tall enough to (probably) want the wider stance width options. I see what you mean with boot size though... Have you ridden midwide/wide boards before? What's your board length in non-shifted boards?

I had the feeling I wouldn't be the only one. Sadly mine broke at the top of a peak (after hiking for an hour to get there). I did a makeshift superglue/tape fix, which I was later informed voided the warrant 😢 Hope your buddy is enjoying the new pair and has better luck 🤞🏻

@@snowboardingdays Yep, the speed with which Burton replied and sent the replacement was also kind of an indicator. ;-) The new bit (whole highback) is ok so far, but we shall see in a season or two how it goes. I must say, even though my System Pro by SLab are faaaar less techy, I'm quite happy with them and with the fact that I have zero issues riding with my trousers over the boots.

Skeptical woth these load shifted decks, im 6ft5 200lbs ride mostly cliffs pillows and trees, usually a 166, you think because its load shifted i could get away with the 158 and still be able to stomp cliffs and not nose in? Cheers
@snowboardingdays
@snowboardingdays Месяц назад
Hi. In terms of weight… you’re definitely fine. I’m similar weight, but much more vertically challenged 😂 Height is a different factor. Any idea your stance width? Sounds like you’re not riding groomers very often, and no park either? If that’s the case, then I would probably look at other options. If you’re keen to stay with Ride, have you checked out the MTNPIG? The Peace Seeker is also great for pure carving/powder riding, but I think it maxes out at 155 which is less optimal.

I was looking at the Genius bindings and you confirmed my worries. With the hook stuck in the net. Got the standed one. Plus... The nidecker Don't fit all boots.. Some work better then others. Take your boot to the shop if you're looking at them. There is a video with a guy explaining it if you look.. Toe caps don't fit all boots. And tread on the boots make it harder to get in and out .
@snowboardingdays
@snowboardingdays Месяц назад
Hey. Great points, thanks. You went with the standard Step Ons or the standard/reflex genesis? True - Supermatics may be less compatible if you’re at either extreme of the size range too. I’m lucky in that I’m bang in the middle of the range for size L - so my Burton, DC, 32 and Vans boots all fit well. If you’re towards the upper limit, you may need to size up, or try them on first as you say. Takes a little tweaking of the straps etc too when you first get them. Once you’re dialled in, they’re pretty sweet.
@Sleddog215
@Sleddog215 Месяц назад
@snowboardingdays I got the standed step in.. The new 2025 step in binding is a new shape also...the forward lean like the cartel. The supermatic problem. It is the toe box shape. As the toe strap is in a set position. When you set up the strap, the bottom ridge on the front ... has more pressure than the Ridge on the top off the toe strap. Pushing your boot down . Which digs your boot tread into the foot bed and makes it hard to get out The video shows him straping a boot in, and the problems..on 2 boots. And 1 shaped boot that works. It just saves people buying another boot to fit those bindings And the misinformation people and the marketing machine...that any boot will fit. Search nidecker supermatic problems. Cheers

Thanks for the Video, Is there a difference to the white 2024 or is it just the color? My board was defective and I can now choose between the “old” 2024 or the new one🤤 PS: I love this board, last season with it was just a dream (until the bang😅)
@snowboardingdays
@snowboardingdays Месяц назад
Must have been some bang! What happened? 😬 So, for 2025 they’ve upgraded to the new “Hybrid Holysheet™ Tri/Tri Glass” - basically mixes carbon and fiberglass. This makes the board a little lighter than the 2024. The base is also a slight upgrade (Hyperdrive Adv XT Base) - although the 2024 version already had a pretty sweet base - so whether you’ll tell the difference, I’m not so sure. Personally, I’d go for the newest one if you have the choice. May as well have all the latest tech and has a better resale potential (if you ever decided to let it go). Few people saying they prefer the white over the green though, so depends how big of a deal that is for you?
@Wolfgarden
@Wolfgarden Месяц назад
@@snowboardingdays Hey thanks a lot, where did you get the info? Exactly what I need! 🤩 Yeah I was run over by two skiers and as I didn't have fully healed ribs from last season, it was unfortunately a bit "unfavorable". However, the board itself had already had a defect beforehand, I was boarding in extremely icy conditions and the binding was clearly pushing through the back of the board (it was crazy deformed). That's why it was taken back, otherwise it's by far the best board I've ever had, a lovely fast board with real character❤🤣 As far as the color is concerned, the white and black really pops and is nice and classic... but to be honest I had a green one for a long time and I like the color in the snow (white is quickly invisible on the snow).
@snowboardingdays
@snowboardingdays Месяц назад
@@Wolfgarden No problem! I spoke to the CAPiTA reps at the end of the 23/24 season. Reliable source for sure! This is also how I was able to scoop the 2025 model 😉 Ah man, that sounds brutal. The skiers owe you more than just a new board! Unusual binding issue. Had you hot waxed with the bindings attached? Seen my fair share of bulges or dips from this. I had also wondered whether they've thinned out the Super DOA too much - although mine is still going strong with another 20+ days on it - including some pretty heavy bails. Good point. The green does tend to pop a little better. I like it better than black/white personally.
