This is my opinion, but swords become boring after a first playthrough, and spears are great for many purposes, meaning they're probably worth the effort if you'd prefer them for another character (though if you're a sword main, Uber Falcon Blade late game is always super strong)
I played this game tons back when I was a wee lass and now I'm just playing it again because I wanted to try and see if there was a new series for it and of course there was; hope Square makes a new re-release so it doesn't take me as long to find new videos of it in the future, hope you had fun with the game though it's my favorite in the series!
This was a great finale. I enjoyed watching this a lot, your party does really well. Every time I fought Corvus he was an absolute killer he was magic burst after magic burst, multiple hitting my characters and landing crits every other turn. I remember I had to grind to the level 60s. I really like how you reclass the party members into a very powerful strength-based unit with healing on the side, its a very good arrangement
Read the title and instantly clicked on it, I relate to that cat trauma. Also yeah the dungeon theme is awesome. Thanks for streaming dragon quest 9, always lovely to find fellow fans of it online Also 32:13-32:17 has such perfect music syncing im dying also awesome job on kicking barbarus so quickly
Fun fact (I feel like I do this with every playthrough I see, but it's pretty neat, lol): When Bangerz tells you to try opening the door to Alexandria Tower if you don't believe him, you can actually talk back to him as if saying that you DO believe him. He then tells you that the door is in fact, fake, and the scene proceeds as normal.
Graphics are upscaled through the DeSmuME emulator (although I later found MelonDS to be better). Soundtrack was done just by muting the in-game soundtrack and playing the orchestral versions from iTunes
To this day, Grovyle's sacrifice is prob the most beautiful moment I've seen in a Pokemon game. Nothing more emotional to me, even the ending (which was also emotional)... just such a well-written scene.
It's been an absolute delight to see you complete my favourite game of all time. Cheers to you, and to your future content, for I'll be here to watch it!
I'm grateful for what came before...but really Melon DS is the end all be all. Especially hotkeying screen order to the pad...something Citra never implemented and desperately needed!
50:00 Technically, there’s more than one final boss in Dragon Quest X since Nelgel the Netherlord/Netherfiend isn’t the only main villain. There’s Maldragora, Nadraga, Kyronos, Jagonuba, and his dad, Jia Red Genos.
How did you configure the emulator so that when you do Fast Forward the FPS does not skyrocket (to the point of being unplayable) and so that there is no Audio Tearing? Thanks, your series made me go back to play this game from my childhood.
Idk if youll see this but thank you for the dragon quest content. There arent many, if any, youtubers playing the series in 2023-24 so it makes me happy seeing my favorite rpg franchise getting some love
As someone who's played this game repeatedly this ending still gets me i have been playing PMD since 2020 and i always love these games but sometimes it hits me hard.
Do you have a video of the type of emulator you use and the settings? I can't get mine to look any better than the standard ds graphics your game is smoother and has less pixels I'm on android drastic
