I've been using an A5 Leuchtturm 1917 dotted grid for YEARS as my work planner - but when I got a Cousin for my personal life, I went from a bulletjournal format in my work planner to a horizontal weeks layout on the left with a blank page on the right for a full week task list, upcoming things, and listing meetings. I've been searching for a pre-printed journal that satisfies this so I don't have to draw everything in, but most are vertical weeks or have a plethora of goals pages, etc. The day-free hobonichi might be my compromise. I can enjoy the TRP (drool) and will still have to draw my own weeks in there, but the paper alone might be worth the effort. I am wary it will not have enough blank pages once I'm done, though.... Hmmmmm. So many things to think about. But I'm blathering on... oh! One more thing: the yearly index? I would use that to track what pages have what notes/projects on them if there were some way to renumber them to match the blank pages... that would be the challenge of course. Okay. I think I'm done. Great video! Thank you! (I should have led with that). --c.
Thanks for talking about this in straightforward terms. I too think that consumerism in the world of planners has become terrible - under the influence of this community in 2023 I changed my planner almost every month and it was terrible, I started to lose deadlines and information. In 2024 I have Hobonichi Cousin, except for the summer vacation, when I had fewer responsibilities and used bujo and all the decorations just for fun. Now it's autumn and I'm back to the same Hobonichi Cousin 2024 and in it I plan to finish the year. Now I am intentionally looking for content creators who are more consistent, show their system that they are perfecting. I want to see how they deal with normal life, maybe I will pick up something for myself. This is a niche on YT, but I think that this niche will not disappear, but that it will grow, because more and more people are tired of looking at the pile of unused outdated planners. And YOU get a sub from me 😘
I TOTALLY agree about starting the week on Sunday! I gave them that feedback a few years ago. There is a reason why Saturday and Sunday are called the weekEND! 😳
I definitely got into it as well, but in my case I just watched lots of RU-vid videos and then I went and bought what I thought would work for me and I’ve stuck with that and I use it like crazy. I have the travellers notebook company. I have two is used for my monthly calendar which has all my appointments in it. Another one is also used for my personal vomit journal. One is used for my daily gratitude journal and then in my other travellers notebook company is like a personal health tracker, with goals for the year and a little journal to do sticker journaling on the go. When I’m at home I do junk journaling so it’s totally different. I don’t take that with me for my every day day today. Journaling the travellers notebook company is suitable for me because I can change out the little journal notebooks and add new ones to what I need. I’ve been doing that now for two years isn’t that works really well, but I do get really good ideas from watching all the RU-vid do a lot of them just showing you and not actually using them
I bought the Clever Fox Premium Pro Weekly/Hourly. It's 8 1/2 X 11 and a hardcover instead of the soft cover. It's layout has changed a little. It also has the budget pages in it, which are awesome. I think it was the original Franklin Planner before Stephen Covey got involved was the original designed with Sunday start dates. Based on a design by Benjamin Franklin (from what I understand) He would plan his week out on a Sunday. Covey likes it so much and added his 7 Habits stuff to it. All the rest followed suit. There is one, that you should check out sometime, and that's the Monk Manual. The new big 52 week planner is great. I love it too, but I needed more planning tools than they offer. Their planners start on Monday. The weekly review is cool too. I'm ADHD (recently diagnosed 2 years ago but now just getting into my diagnosis...just didn't accept or believe it till my wife got diagnosed) I also am on the spectrum high functioning Aspberger's. Both adult sons are as well. Anyway...long story longer. LOL Loved this, love the way you reviewed it. Got here via another great ADHD planner channel. Her name is Jenna and it's called Runs On Espresso. Check her out sometime too. ☺
As someone who is also notoriously bad at daily tasks due to mental health reasons, for a time I tracked when I last did the chore itself in a monthly. It would trigger me to do it sooner rather than later next time. Thanks for sharing this flip-through with the internet! I know how vulnerable it feels to share the unedited stuff sometimes but it‘s so great to see! Life is not always beautiful but we need to make it as beautiful as possible for ourselves. 💌
Uncanny, just like your good self, I fell in love with a6 leuchttrum late last year, exactly for the reasons you did) Love this little helper. It's just like comfort food, cosy and healing.
I share mine on my channel as well and how I use it and it is not super pretty per se; although I do add stickers to it, but you see my real handwriting and data of what I am really doing in my Hobonichi weeks for each week and month and even in the notes pages. I definitely agree that we should and could use a lot more sharing of the normalcy of not so pretty looking planners; although I still think mine is pretty before and after the pen, but I know not everybody likes their own handwriting, but I try to enjoy the process for what it is and use the planner for what I need to use it for and try to have some fun doing it 🎉🎉
Amazing that is so true ‘enjoy the process for what it is and use the planner for what I need to use it for and try to have some fun doing it’ 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 thanks for watching!!!!! :) :) :)
@@kyra_jamesOf course! I absolutely love your content… I wish you would do more videos. You’re very clever and hilarious and very intelligent and your videos are very enjoyable 🎉🎉
Thanks for sharing! I'm back in my Weeks (hopefully for the rest of the year!)and use it pretty strictly functional too. It's basically the only planner that I keep an archive of and, like you, I find it satisfying to flip through to recall moments in my life too.
I agree! i love the hobonichi dayfree! the a6 dayfree + weekly supplement is my favorite combo. I used it for work and it was perfect. I used the weekly supplent as a project gant chart when i had multiple projects and milestones. I used sticky notes to map out deadlines. If it changes i can easily move it and once it happens i remove the sticky note and permantely type it in.
K, i binged all your videos for the last 3 months, now i need more, 😂, no pressure. Again, im so sorry for your loss, i just watched your last video and left a comment about losing my dog and it started making me cry, watching this video helped cheer me up, thanks for reminding me about losing my dog last month (sacrastic) and thank you for cheering me up afterwards (sincere). 😢😊❤
Awww, I don't follow you on Instagram but I'm gunna start now that I know you have one, that to say, I'm guessing you lost your dog, I lost mine about a month ago due to a health emergency that came up out of nowhere, I couldn't believe it, one day he was fine and the next we had to put him to sleep because we don't HAVE 7 THOUSAND dollars we can just pull out to save our dogs life, I'm still devastated. 😢 wtf do people do in those situations?! Who just HAS 7k in the bank?! I refuse to get another dog now, even though I've ALWAYS had one, If we can't afford medical care for them then it's not fair to them to own one. I'm very sad, I miss him so much! I'm gunna go cry and kick stuff now.
Lol, I freaking love your videos. I've been in my hermit era for the past 13 years, 😂 I may not end up having any more eras, this may be my final Era and I'm not sad about it, I love being alone.
I have been doing pretty good this year so far and good with all my planners and notebooks. I’m not looking for planner peace thankfully. I just try to get through every day as I have debilitating anxiety so the least of my worries is what planner I’m gonna use day to day so I just try to have as much fun as I can and enjoy life as much as I can! I love too many planners and notebooks, lol
Hi! I am new to paper crafting and have noticed a lot of this in that community also. A lot of new videos feature new products such as dies or stamps. I don’t have the budget to buy every new product that comes along. I end up watching old videos because that’s where I learn.
This my first video I've watched of yours and I just love you 🤣 Ermergurd, you speak my language... That one'r frowny! No one uses the darn Jibun Techo on the tubes anymore. Subscribed! Keep your energy comin'!
😬 I got braces when I was 60 😱 (I’m now 68 😱 😱). All I had was one crooked bottom tooth-one of the middle ones. For years my dentist encouraged me to go to an orthodontist. Then, out of nowhere at one of my appts with him, he goes, “If you don’t go to this orthodontist [hands me business card], I will pull that tooth on your next visit. Well, that made me laugh, and he laughed along with me, and I told him he sounded just like my dad! (Dentist is of the age of a child if I’d wanted to have kids 😂.) So I did as promised, eventually graduated to Invisiline, and got to quit wearing them 2 years later. I totally support you in your braces journey. It’s definitely a learning curve, but you’re handling it with humor, just like I did, and that gives us all good endorphins, YAY! Hugs to you, sweetie❣️
