I was the first to mention we're going to have too wear fr gear, even for the basic mc. People blew me off, and told me I was dumb for saying and thinking, and or they said don't give blizz ideas...lol...it's a blizz game, why wouldn't they force us to wear fr gear....that is most likely what they wanted back in the day, they just didn't know how to balance. They barely made the raid with help from everquest creators. Also I think lw and leather wearers in general have the easiest sets to get for fr gear. The blue boe set has 2 pieces with 25 fr and 1 with 30, 2 set gives 10, then you can get 20 fr on cloak + 15 on shoulder if you do the rep grinds, and I believe the waterlords allow you to buy a ring with 20, giving you 145 fr, and if you have a pally or shammy in grp that is another 60 I believe, then i believe druids can give 40 with talents, so that should be 245, if my math is right, lol.
Yikes I have been prepping but I work 10 hour days it took me 2 days to even get to 60 and I had to call out of work 1 day. Between getting some 0.5 gear my runes attempting to farm rep and to even get attuned the fire res fell by the way side. Today my guild is gonna try to do MC heat lvl 2 as our first raid. I’m shitting my pants rn at work I do not have the fire res I need. Fuck.
Yeah - But you can just NOT fucking do the heat level. And do the early one. And still get the gear. It's literally choose your poison. PUG? T1, same gear. Sweat? T3, same gear. Good luck, have fun. The fuck is the issue. If you're in a guild that is trying to SWEAT when they are clearly PUGS - LEAVE! Find some SANE people to play with.
Well , you always have to think this is SoD, not vanilla wow... they try out new stuff and see how it works out. we are the beta testers ^^ I personally like it, i hate it when ppl clear the most difficulty on first day in 2 hours, and then be like "kk, nothing to do. lets raidlog" Worldbosses are a fk joke, you can do them in a 5 man party feels like. And the new T1 set gear alone brings like 125ish FR ? get pala aura, druid buff, shoulder enchant, back enchant. and 1 or 2 Fr trinkets, and you g2g for heat 3. still can fully blast DPS or dont need any FR rings.
I love it and resistance was a thing for a reason and always hated how we just skipped the resistance mechanic, and just wanted to blaze through with out consequence. This will make it for players to come back and do dungeons and create a econic lift. Thats just one way to look at it. Preps is awesome and I love it but of course people out there are lazy or complain about not having the time to do the prep but yea there is 3 stages to play in so enjoy with or with out resistance and the choice is yours.
20 x 2 from librams, 20 from hydraxian cape enchant, 15 from argent dawn shoulder enchant, 60 from fire res totem/aura, 30 from imp motw for a total of 165 fire res. That means to reach 226 you only need to get 60 from your gear... which T1 will mostly cover.
motw doesnt stack with aura. Hardly anyone ever has librams, they are a huge pain to get cuz the brd item required thats BoP. But really who wants to enchant all their gear with a stat that is useless outside of MC AND is defensive in nature.
@JakeFromTree didn't know they didn't stack, that's still only 90 fire res from gear. As for the librams it would mainly be relevant for heat 3 which is intended for the sweatier players by design who are more than capable of buying the application or farming the essence/libram, not to mention they buffed the libram/burning essence drop rate.
Dukes domain give you flat 20 fire rea pluss 50 raid wide on use. Also you can use resist pot for an exstra 50. There is also better trinkets that give 20 res like tho blood of ony. Only changeing trinkets and getting enchants while buffed gets you to: 245
It's actually so funny how bad it is. New content - locked behind clearing molten core on highest difficulty - highest difficulty requires to replace all that pre-bis you just grinded for fire res gear - fire res gear does less dps and isn't as fun. If MC is like ST, people will get geared so quick that the new boss won't even be worth the time. First thing that popped in my head when I saw the wowhead article was, "man Jake was right about res gear sets being back he’s so based" lmao. Great video bro.
But bro, that's classic. All the dads will cry if u put some kind of mechanic that require ppl to move or do something other than stand still and press 1. Ppl literally play this version because its easy and brain dead, so, res gear its the best way to do it, its pretty simple, all the dads have to do is farm the gear and eat the mechanic, no harm no foul.
Hey mate, thanks for the video! For heat stuff, you have Aura, enchants, its really nothing for second heat level, you can basically get it with 1 item and few enchants. For level 3 tho, it will require your set, and some more MC gear, set that is diferent then in classic era, this time you will want to wear those items actually hahah so i guess they just made it so you cant just enter level 3 day one, it will require you to loot some gear first, and i think thats fine tbh. Also on revered with hydraxian waterlords there is a 20 FR enchant on cloak i think.

It probably will be clown suits, but not as much as you might expect. From what I understand, some of the gear in SoD is restatted to provide additional fire resistance, or new gear was added with FR (for example, the new devilsaur set gives you 35FR as opposed to 0). Additionally, there's a +20 FR cape enchant from Hydraxian honored rep. Additionally, I see that your legs (and presumably, your head) has +8 str instead of +20 FR on it. So, without clownsuiting at all (although sacrificing +8 str on head and legs, and +3 agi on cloak), you can already build a 95 FR set with just 2 piece devilsaur.
heat 1: you can pretty much faceroll it (people love having fun after coming from work) heat 2: you can faceroll it until you get debuffed and dont meet required resistance then you die - go farm up resistance so you can "faceroll it"( we will claim its "delayed gratification" though the encounter still will consist of 1 boss ability) heat 3: refer to heat 2 where do I apply as Blizz game dev?
My reply - the community expects Blizzard to Zig, but they Zag instead. The irony of preparation getting tossed to the wind: P3 inflation ruined gold-holders, P4 deflation messed with commodity holders, and now p4 0.5 farm that maybe invalidated by high resist requirements. Frustrating, it’s like they are balancing for a bunch of people who will join in another season haha
I hope the new gear upgrades u get inside brd for the currency of the new event meets those requirements. I didn't do the full 0.5 questline to replace those items with a green set of just fr gear. F that!

I've thought it's the damage amplifiers of the first Ignite stack that is applied to the whole debuff, rather than the last. How have you figured this out?
How much value does resistance give at lower levels? I've always wondered with the small +resist items ~level 20 or so and how much value they actually bring. I'd assume whoever made the itemization and stat value systems took a sort of % power level into account based on levels, but hovering over the resistance always just states poor. I'm a bit tired right now so might just not have followed the examples correctly through out, I've just wondered for a while how valuable it could actually be to stack the resistance stats available to you at lower levels.
A given amount of resist against a level 20 is 3 times as strong as it would be against a level 60. [resist/( casterLevel*5)]*0.68 = averageDamageReduction if the attacker is a much lower level this equation wont work. the attacker will hit for much less. And this also doesnt work perfectly unless the attacker is close to hit cap

So - and I assume people who do twinking have probably already thought about it, but - giving one of the big +15 resistance enchants to a low level could be hugely beneficial? Like the +15 fire resistance would count as +45 for a level 20 and probably more so for a lower leveled, so a level 19 with the items Firebane Cloak with +15 fire resistance and 2 Zircon Rings of Fire Resistance = 32 fire resist would be equal to ~96 fire resistance. Which would mean an overall "weak" rating as far as I know but, what would the chances of rolling resists be then as a ~20 (in this case 19) levelled? As far as I understand, it's chances for 25/50/75/100 resists that increase with more resistances. Or the chance to gain a resist:partial resist happens by virtue of amount of resistance at all.
@@80085ftw For pvp with binary spells (anything that CCs or slows people) [resist/( casterLevel*5)]*0.75 So for frostbolt if you had 32 resist it would give you (32/100)*0.75 = 25% chance to fully resist
@@JakeFromTree I have returned with a new stupid-haha-ass build, by the way, any thoughts on why specifically +resistance random rolls on armor type items start from specifically level 47? I've made a level 49 build with 319 Fire Resist - so that would be (319/245)*0,75=0,976 which would be a 97~98% chance to full resist a fire spell from a caster the same level as I. Can that be right or is there some sort of diminishing return calculation eventually? Besides there being a difference between binary spells and other types of spells (I assume from you specifying binary spells in your comment). Wait a second, what about auto-attacks from Fire elementals?

The portion about the 5th Ignite stack hypothetical 100% increase, was that just to highlight the importance of modifying SP for snapshotting, or is there some importance to the 5th stack specifically I didn't pick up? My understanding before this video was that each stack of Ignite matters in the final phatty rolling tick - but it seems like that's only if there were crits along the way in that less than 2sec window you mentioned You did a great job explaining I just think I'm having trouble understanding. last stack has its modifiers applied to all the stacks. SP makes your crits bigger, but doesnt double dip like % modifiers,so its equally important in all stacks. 5th stack is most important for % modifiers because it double dips and reapplys itself to future ignite ticks.

Prlly not because it would be too short. Ranged shots cannot glance. they hit crit or miss. i imagine pets either are the same as that or behave the same as player character melee. make make a website later and have smaller stuff like that on it
I dont think anub does, but i did think twins did before. I'm pretty sure they all have the same armor, but id need to check logs for accidental kicks to be 100% sure. The sources i found could be wrong, but since they were in agreement i believe they are correct. If something is wrong someone will post a comment here proving the wrong parts i imagine, but that may take a while.

@@LostBear. I think its jus because of the magic immunity, so no one would have FF or CoR up ever. Which would explain using rivenspike or bashguuder too since they dont stack with FF
