This was a really fun race with plenty of places being swapped about and great to be battling with friends on track again who I've not raced against since I left lightweights last year
That's a robust defence at the end there. Hate when that sort of thing happens and it isn't necessarily noticed that they've tried to defend far too late
Yes it is, do you live local? If so consider joining us for the Wednesday night championship, we alternate forward and reverse each race event and it's always great to have new people join in to race against
Did you gain an advantage by the contact …. YES. If this was on the straight no problems …. But you made corner MID corner moving him slightly off line causing him to slow down enough for you to drive past.
I'm about to upload the highlights of the race and even had to double check I hadn't got any other warning but there was nothing else. The marshals have to make decisions quickly and I respect that and sometimes it doesn't work in your favour, on to the next one 😬

I love this track in reverse, ill be honest no idea what my all time PB is but as I'm in the heavies its still really far off of the lights best times.
That last lap was a last ditch attempt for the podium, you didn't change your line and he didn't get far enough into the corner to force you out side to gain position, add on that you're on the racing line and he's wanting to push you off it from a wide corner so he's got to expect the tyres to come his way quickly or bail out.
I double checked with the marshalls afterwards and they said that was exactly what was discussed in the briefing before we started and didn't do anything wrong
Glad you like it, it's a nice track and some great people here in all of the leagues. I use a GoPro 11 front and a GoPro 7 Silver on the rear, and Davinci resolves to edit it all together, usually takes about 1-2 hours of editing for a 10 mins race 🤣

Driving in the wet looked completely different from the first few laps to the last few in your case as it looked like you were keeping up with some of the pros and was getting used to the grip of the outside line! Looked like a fun session :)
1:13 The rain made this event really fun and challenging at the same time, but we couldn't have done it without the dedication of the SCK staff who could have easily told us the night was cancelled and gone home to a nice warm house but decided to stand out in a monsoon so we could keep on racing!
You need to be more dominant & tighter with your lines. Practice in a D-MAX when you can & try dragging the kart into bends instead of turning the wheel so heavily, Tamworth is a very forgiving circuit mistake wise but very easy to drop time on. You also look like you are sat very far back from the pedals, bring yourself closer… although not comfy it makes a massive difference in weight balancing. The slower it feels : the faster you are. The faster it feels : the slower you are.
Nice one thanks, I'll get some more time on track and see what I can make happen. Only had the chance to do DMax once so far and that was at Sandown but was Hella fun
@@lifeatthebackofthegrid you’ll get there mate, if it feels slow… it’s fast. DMAX are great for rentals. I’ve not karted in a few years now, hear the dmax’s had some upgrades.
7:38 keep Gary pinned and brake as late as you can, if your nose is in front, like earlier you can turn across them provided you still give them enough room on the inside but you'll have the next corner
2:45 bit naughty of second place here as he clearly saw you with a run but put you up the kerb, he was entitled to make it tight but you were entitled to some space to be left. You weren't necessarily going to get the position because of grip in the S's that night but it was advantage by contact as you lost a position and he no longer has to put up with your constant pressure
4:36 When going up the inside and you've got them on the brakes don't let them turn across you, come off the brake a touch to get your nose alongside it in front so that they have to wait for you to turn in which will give you the position. Later braking here would've also helped but you were concerned about hitting them, if you'd choosen to brake later you would've definitely been ahead
