Yeah for the future I would recommend nothing less that a 40HP for a similar boat set up. Waiting on a OEM Suzuki 9 pitch to come in, that’s the smallest pitch available.
I like using the braid as a backing because when it’s time to replace the mono I don’t have to use 500ft of mono every time I respool the reel. The braid basically lasts forever and I only need to replace about 200ft at a time
Raider is the only manufacturer that I know of using 1/4 inch plate aluminum for their bottoms. And they're beautiful boats with pretty awesome options.
Hewescraft, made in Colville wa. Excellent quality. Workhorse in Alaska. Northriver made in Roseburg Oregon. Excellent quality and very durable. Northwest jet, made in Clarkston Wa. Same group as Weldcraft and Duckworth. I run a 2015 northwest 218 lightning. Great boat. Fishes nicely
@bruced1429 I have the Lund Barron on there, and don’t get me wrong Lunds are great boats but the Barron is the only “heavy gauge” comparable one they make. This video was heavy gauge specific and if the viewers wanted I was going to make another video more tailored to boats like Lund, crestliner, Smoker Craft, Alumacraft, Polar Craft etc.
I just bought one. Thank you for the video turned out great just out of curiosity how much did you pay for yours? I got one that was about two years old for 320 bucks.
Thanks for the video! Very helpful. One thing to mention is this Easy Troll model doesn't come with the cable guide hook. I bought mine thinking it was missing but I see you don't have one either and a call to Cannon's customer service confirmed that it is only supplied with the Uni Troll models even though it is depicted on the owners manual. Thanks!
I'm also looking at heavy guage boats. You should look at Stabicraft. I'm looking at the 1550 fisher or Thunderjet 186. Around the same price. I'm leaning to Stabicraft
@@trollin2021 They are foam filled chambers. Keeps the boat very stable at rest. The boat is close to unsinkable. Look up the video on YT where they try to sink one. It also keeps the boat very dry when underway.
@@trollin2021 Yep. If you follow a few simple guidelines, mine starts in 1 or 2 pulls every time, even after sitting for weeks. And strangely enough, though it has the largest displacement of all the Japanese 6 HP 4-stroke outboards, at only 52 pounds it is still the lightest by a good margin. Suzuki made weight a top priority, which is really important to an old geezer like myself. And, as a lifelong gearhead, I can tell you there is simply no replacement for displacement. This means it can be more conservatively tuned, so you get the same power as the others but at a more leisurely RPM. This is great for things like noise ratings, fuel consumption, high frequency vibration and engine life. I am really loving mine.
@@tavspop typically it’s a lake trout fishery but we caught a few nice rainbows as well that day. There are Kokanee in Granby but we didn’t target them.
Man. I’ve been wanting to try one of these to compare it to my garmin echomap 7, the side imaging looks so damn clear on the hb. But it makes me nervous seeing multiple videos of issues like this and others.
that trickler works fantastic with rounded grain powder, you need a better scale bro, rifle reload takes a lot of powder compared with pistols and can not be an error there, take a look the Frankfort Arsenal Platinum scale is around 65 bucks, works very good and runs with battery or straight 110V, the good feature of 110V dont auto power off, be safe.
I have that Lyman and recommend hitting the tare button every time. You can place a case on it and watch the weight slowly increase over several minutes. Remove the case and it’ll be off of zero by the amount of increase. I use it to verify the setting on my Lee Safety Powder measure and use that to measure loads.
Those Lyman, in my opinion, or any digital scale is good for a back up check. Slow as you've said and need recalibration often. The instructions even say to calibrate often. Beam scale is better imop. Digital nice for weighing cases. But its good to have both.
I just purchased a MK Pwerdrive (Bluetooth) yesterday (an excellent Father’s Day gift from a wonderful wife). I am going to install it this week. Your video is most helpful as I have the exact same front deck and gunnel situation as you. Thanks again!
any regrets with the FA trickler? it has been 2 yrs now, since this video posted - i been thinking about getting that exact model.. to match my other FA gear..
Thanks! Just scored a great deal on a M&P Sport 2 that came with this optic. A gentleman at the range I purchased from had put 5k rounds through the CT-103 without any degradation or issues. I'll sight mine in for 50 yds as well.
They would still be in business if they hadn't started to make junk guns - - -- - I think the x mark -pro is worse than the Walker trigger. Other than that, the old model 700 is a great rifle.
Lapping the receiver and also bedding the barrel are both excellent ways to improve the accuracy of any AR pattern rifle. As another commenter pointed out, your scope rings really shouldn’t be connected to the hand guard. PSA’s stainless barrels tend to be very good right out of the box but do improve with a little use - accuracy seems to really settle in around 200-300 rounds. With good factory ammunition I typically get just under 1 MOA once I’m through the break-in period. With lapping and bedding and a properly developed hand load, I wouldn’t think 0.75 MOA to be outside the realm of possibility (much more than that will almost certainly require a more premium barrel).
