This is an old Patsy Cline song, and if ur not into country or whatever, put the category ‘country’ aside and pull up some patsy clone cause she sang beautiful and she was just a cool chick back n the day…a very cool lady, and I normally can’t stand covers of downright bad ass songs from the past, but Melanie, even though she didn’t chNge the arrangement of it to much, she still made this her own song. I hate to say cause I love patsy clone, but I really like listening to Melanie perform it better. She should do ‘strange’ and maybe even ‘walking after midnight’ as well. She’d kill it.
I've been listening to this one since when I was in 5th grade (now almost in my 2nd year of college). I remember how tough it is to find an audio for this track in RU-vid that I have to click on multiple videos to look for which one is the best and accurate. I am surprised that up to this moment, I still know every word in the lyrics.
"X is the shape I drew through your face in permanent marker, oh yeah" this line ran, so they could come getaway car, look what you made me do and blank space
Some swifties way back on debut are lucky that Taylor released a version with unreleased songs. That was limited on that time,Now,She literally add them by vault easter eggs. Btw,The mature look of Taylor is unsuitable for the young voice.
There’s a high possibility that it will end up on debut Taylor’s version because even though the song was never officially released, it was recorded under BMR and she had performed it live around the time her debut album had been out, probably way before fearless. I remember seeing a video where she had performed it live and I think it was before fearless was even written
The amount of people in the comments who didn't know it was a cover. I-- who hasn't heard this song like what? This shit was everywhere . Mel's addition of the kazoo is S-teir tho xD
considering how close it was to being on fearless, i’m pretty surprised it wasn’t a vault track on taylor’s version. hopefully she set it aside for debut, it’s one of my favorite unreleased songs
I read somewhere that this was written for her debut album and then she didn't end up using it. I wouldn't be surprised if this was one of the vault tracks for her debut.
