I've been on an installment plan, problem is I'm only able to pay about a Year's worth of back taxes in one year but I owe about 3 years back taxes, so every year I continue to owe about 3 years of back taxes, add all the interest and penalties sure isn't helping. One thing I do need to do is to have more taxes held out of my check an order to stop the bleeding.

How difficult is it to renegotiate the installment agreement at the next tax cycle? In my case, it's not that I lack sufficient funds to pay -- and I am unconcerned about paying an 8% yearly interest rate, even if it formulates to 150% of taxes owed in the end -- I am more concerned with retaining use of the owed amount as investment principal for as long as feasible. Unless Uncle Sam really needs that 50% "penalty" sooner than the 72 months agreed upon, we should both be coming out ahead in this arrangement.

They cancelled the installment agreement i had becsuse i paid too early never bothered to send me a letter they cancelled it now put me into collections ARGUED with me and said i better pay 160 from now on plus a fee of 240 even though im under 51k a year. Ive been going back and forth with cash app since February of this year. I placed a order for a edirt bike. Two days after making the purchase, i received a tracking number that usps stated was fraudulent. I then went the the usps store in my city provided the clerk to make sure and he also stated it was fraudulent. I contacted cashapp customer support and was told not to cancel but to wait until it finalized. After i reached out with the merchant and he started giving me the run around stating he shipped the item but the tracking number was false. I contacted cash app again and a claim was placed. I was denied. So ive been having claims placed every since February to present day and all customer support representatives have denied my claim. One of those customer service representatives (a guy), on a recorded line when asked if one of there customer placed a order and didn't receive the item can they receive a refund he stated no and denied my claim again. I just put in another claim as of today and almost immediately they declined my claim again. So in turn i will do the same, i will delete the app and not reimburse them of anything
You know how devastating it feels to be homeless while working. Lose what you work for have life stolen and owe taxes that i cant pay. Its a depressing hole that almost renders my brain useless to solve the stress. Thank you so much for the information
I am still waiting for 2021 tax return for over a year. called them and they said oh well. I even got a letter saying my refund would be processed back on Jan 4 and after telling them this they claim they have no record of that form even though its on official letterhead

Yes, Uber does but if you look at your Uber tax summer issued on your 1099, it still show as a total gross income. Therefore, you have to claim that as an expense.

So in 2015, I had to cash my defined benefit pension, in order to pay half the equity I owed to my spouse’s bankruptcy receiver (Under our agreement I owed him .25 of the equity $47,000, when son turned 18) to be able to keep my house where both myself and both of my kids, who were college students at the time, lived. My former company happened to be having a cash out option at the time. I paid the rest with savings in an IRA. I need to amend this return to get my pension cash out excused from any taxes. Apparently the law was changed in 2019, but do I have any hope because this happened to me in 2015? My AGI that year was $105,000, but my earned income was only about $60,000.

Just for some info, i called the attorney generals office, told them i applied for a vendors license but never did any sales, they processed the closure within a few days, debt cleared
The dirty little secret is that there has not been a lawful legal ENFORCEABLE INCOME TAX IN.......70 YEARS!!! Google 26 CFR 1.0-1 paragraph (d) of the IRC of 1954 clearly says TAXABLE YEARS began December 31 1953 and ENDED AUGUST 16 1954 passed into LAW by the 83rd Congress AS LAW and published AS Volume 68A in the United States Statutes at Large..... as LAW. Any Subtitle F compliant enforcement provisions took effect the day AFTER the date of ENACTMENT which is August 17 1954 but on that day there was NO TAX TO ENFORCE AS the tax died expired the day before on August 16 1954. We just had several years of back taxes interest and penalties dismissed by the U.S. Tax Court by asserting this fact and won the summary judgement against the IRS because of the IRS lack of Jurisdiction, Standing and Merit. We did this Pro Se without an attorney.
