Palamas taught that God can have a beginning, which is heresy and blasphemy: Gregory Palamas, Third Triad, 2nd Discourse, # 8: “… we for our part know that while all the energies of God are uncreated, not all are without beginning.” He teaches that some parts of God are uncreated and that some can have a beginning, which obviously is heretical nonsense that none of the early church fathers ever believed. "Orthodoxy" is false, Catholicism is true. To be saved, one must be a traditional Catholic. Eastern "Orthodoxy" Exposed: Their Heretical Doctrine Of God ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-d07mgLoOW8g.html

You obviously don't have any understanding of the above quote. God as creator happened at a specific point in time; God did not create eternally. The energy of God as creator although being uncreated did have a beginning in time because the act of creation started in time. If you had quoted or read the sentences after this, St. Gregory explained what he meant. You don't understand what he says because you believe in Absolute Divine Simplicity, borrowed from philosophers.
@endtimescrucialinfo
@endtimescrucialinfo 13 дней назад
@@NepticFathers You don't know what you're talking about. Palamas teaches that the "divine energies" are God, and that they can have a beginning, as the quote cited shows. To deny that would be to lie. No part of God has a beginning. Got it? He also teaches that the "divine energies" (which, according to Palamas are God) are many. That's another blasphemy, as it denies the oneness of God and attempts to divide God into parts. That's shown in the video, among other things. What you attribute to "philosophers" is taught in sacred scripture. You won't save your soul in "Orthodoxy", as adhering to Palamas' heretical, inventive and contradictory nonsense denies basic teachings of Christianity. Also, if you condemn Absolute Divine Simplicity, then you'd have to condemn St. Irenaeus, one of the greatest early church theologians, who taught the same, as even the Eastern "Orthodox" admit.

If I understand your video correctly, are you arguing that scientists can't infer about the past in Earth's history because, after the fall (and the resulting corruption it had), the world has experienced a radical change in its laws and nature, making scientific inferences about it speculative? In other words, would you say that when some scientists infer millions of years (contrary to young-earth creationism), they are presupposing a uniformity and consistency in nature that doesn't actually exist due to their denial of the historical reality of the fall?

@@ProphetGreg94 If you haven't read any Orthodox books on prayer, I definitely recommend reading different books before the Philokalia selection one I mentioned before. I would recommend "The Spiritual Life and How to be Attuned to it," by St. Theophan the Recluse. Then I would recommend, "A Night in the Desert of the Holy Mountain," or "The Art of Prayer." I've been Orthodox for 9 years or so now. I assume you've seen some of my other videos addressing such things as speaking in tongues from an Orthodox perspective. I've tried to do videos for those coming from the charismatic movement to understand a little of the differences between Orthodoxy and the Charismatic movement. If you have any other questions just let me know. The Orthodox believe in the charismatic gifts but we definitely stress discernment, self control and humility. We also don't use any sort of mental imagery in prayer because using our imagination can lead to delusion and demonic influences.

@@NepticFathers Yeah, I don’t use mental imagery. In fact, the time I spend in prayer in tongues doesn’t involve mental imagination; in fact, I practice the contrary-a fast from the mind. What a bunch of bullshit. The intent of evolution as a theory isn't an attempt to disprove a god. Understand what seperate claims are, saying evolution is a thing isnt saying god isn't. Also just because evolution goes against what it claims happened in the bible again; isn't making the claim that a God doesn't exist. Evolution is solely what we call to explain the diversity we see in life today that is backed by mountains of evidence. Nature is doing its thing and we just slapped a label on it. There is no intent behind evolution, its a concept formed based off many observations through many fields of study. There is so many problems with this book. Theists need to understand that there is no dogma with evolution, people that know about evolution aren't looking to Darwin's works to be the final arbiter. We follow more recent research that has either verified what we knew or changed things to better fit reality. We have empirical evidence of evolution. We have artificially selected for things to evolve over many generations. Things like dogs, the mustard plant and languages. We have seen single celled organisms evolve into multicellular ones. Evolution happens whether you like it or not, that does shit all to say whether a god exists or not. The reason the writer thinks evolution being a fact makes that claim is because apologists believe in the bible; word for word, whereas im sure most theists think at least some of the stories or more figurative and meant to be a parable. If you take every word of the Bible literally, then you most definitely will have problems. It's riddled with them.

That's interesting. It's a really important distinction. If grace and the glory that we receive is created, then there is an unbridgeable gap between humanity and God. Also it doesn't make sense that the Glory of God would be a lesser created thing than God Himself.

St. John Chrysostom and St. Athanasius are good places to start. I would also recommend the Apostolic Church Fathers as well. Recommendations also depend on a person's background as well. Pseudo Dionysius has a fairly technical vocabulary and a specific way he uses his language and the way he is read by Orthodox will be greatly different from how a Roman Catholic or Western scholar would read and understand his content. I haven't read any of the St. Isaac books that I have yet, although I'll hopefully read them soon.

How do we practice the Jesus Prayer in a chaotic city and noisy apartment?. I would greatly appreciate any advice you may have.
@NepticFathers
@NepticFathers 3 месяца назад
If I'm in a noisy apartment or building I put on headphones and listen to some sort of music like ambient music or chant to block out noise. That is part of the reason I make ambient music because I can use it to create background sound that isn't distracting to prayer and I know that my music isn't weird new age music. I have a couple tracks on my channel of my music. Also you can go into a room where you won't be bothered or a closet even if need be or use a hat or something to block out your visual distraction. So if I'm someplace like my work I can put on my headphones if someone is being distracting and pull a hat or hood over my eyes.
