Maybe your my long lost brother, I’m a surveyor blazing lines on the opposite coast up here in Maine, I’m extremely thankful that we don’t have inclines and declines like that! I mean there are some small hills but nothing like the mountains on the west coast! Steelhead ah? Fishing and surveying go together like peanut butter and jam! I’m actually on vacation this week and have gone fly fishing every single day for brook trout! You seem to run your lines alittle different then we do, we approach ours typically with two man crews and use a base and rover, the gps guy goes ahead and hangs ribbon, I come behind with my Swedish brush axe and BandP! It seams like a ton of extra work to traverse with a gun or total station! But either way, looks like a good straight line! Good work man!
@scottbuck9348 GPS doesn't work in most of the areas in the coast range. Draws are too deep and the brush and trees are too big. Keep up the good work and thanks for watching🍻
Can you do a video showing how you prepare and cook the chanterelles? Do you always cook them the same way or do you incorporate them into a cream sauce with a white wine reduction and serve with chicken?
I just cook them in a pan with a small amount of olive oil. They will release all their water and then reabsorb it as flavor. These buttons are good to pickle also👍
The original is still kickin and we bought another BC 65 off Amazon that I rotate in. They are slowing down but they're 10 years old. I recharge about every 2 weeks.
That was a fun one man… I was always a seco cat… if you ever get a really cool job that needs a drone view let me know… I’ve got a GoPro you can put to use as well… but I’m not flicking around in any poison oak…
@@SteelheadJEDi yeah I bought it thinking about that ten years ago… too many knuckleheads started following me around trying to get in the frame… I had to start delaying where I was at for two weeks because they got so annoying… I could care less now because I’m retired again…
@SorenPrime It's a Nikon NPL I'll have to look at the number but it's a 5 second gun. In the deep dark timber it's all about the optics and they are the best.

Wow, I can hardly believe how rugged the terrain is in some of the places you navigate. Only a skilled surveyor could venture into that jungle and manage to find a marker.
Wow that was a wet day out for sure. Good to see the rubber pants over the boots too. I wondered if you were going to fall in with all the log walking and you did! Hope you fixed the hole in your boot or maybe it's time for new boots again.
I’ll never understand why they think that bolting those logs together is a good idea. I actually see metal in the river as a hazard if I’m boating or tubing. They must have some lobby from the steel industry that pushes for that part of the plan.
@@jasonclark2837 you can ask my old boss about that. I crossed a fallen tree carrying the instrument and proceeded about 100’ to hear a loud splash. It was only a three foot fall into a foot deep of water but he apparently touched every drop by the time he climbed the bank of that crick… he had a priceless look on his face… I tried not to laugh and failed and continue to laugh to this day… what a fun guy to work with…
Wow was worried they'd have trouble surveying our property because it was so full of small trees, and brush, but seeing you surveying that place I guess maybe it's not a problem lol.
Wow that was heavy going in thick brush. I like the shots when you take a break and put your legs out in front because you can see your boots with your work pants over them. They look great and served you well that day.
I would love to work with someone like this, on a job like that. Able to identify the plant life, find corners without a schonstedt, working with/creating bearing trees. This is the type of surveyor I'm striving to be.
@Dizzilnate I'm not a surveyor, my boss does all the things I do, but he is also a Surveying genius. I can barely do the math. I'm just good at walking in the woods and whacking stuff. Thanks for watching.
