Hey man, I’m a junior in North Carolina looking for great computer science colleges and UT Austin is one of my top choices out of state! May I ask what AP’s you took in highschool and what your stats were for your tests? Currently I have a 1400 SAT (Not submitting ACT) and I’ve taken AP Psychology AP Environmental Science AP Chemistry And Next year I plan to take AP Calculus AB AP Physics 1 AP computer science principles Also, I have one last question for you! If I were to take a python programming class next school year, and I had to replace it with one of my AP classes, how do you think it would affect my application if I want to go into computer science?
Hey! So I know you were asking Ethan but I thought I could help you out. I’m an incoming freshman at UT Austin btw. I would go ahead and take the programming class; I honestly think it would strengthen your app. In terms of stats and such I took AP Human Geo, AP World, AP English Lang, AP English Lit, AP Computer Science Principles, AP US History, and AP US Gov. My SAT I didn’t send in. And I had a 5.3 GPA. Basically just do the best that you can. You already seem like a very strong applicant in my eyes academically speaking; just really focus on the essays, because that can make it or break it. I wish you the best of luck!
No way I’m studying engineering at my community college and I want to be an electrical engineer. I hope I can get into UT as a transfer. Have you heard any tips from transfer students or anything?
