i really like the fact that on the ordering food without a menu skit, he calls the restaurant using numbers to describe the food items, implying there is a menu and he has it memorized already
Brennan is my favorite, whether or not he is or isn't on the spectrum, he definitely makes us feel heard, seen, and would totally throw down were present during our victimization (that's not requiring contact, he can actively use vicious mockery). I'm so thankful for him, he... He makes sense to me in a world that I've spent too much energy and time trying to make it make sense. Evan Kelmp... I'm uncomfortable how close to home that hits, but it's kinda like having a fictional brother. For anyone saying that our finding comfort in the behaviors and thought processes etc. Of an individual we respect and look up to is problematic in some way: "Uh, I don't care if we get in trouble. Hey you guys, come find me... And we can hash it out, man." (You're lucky we let you get away with being mean. We aren't causing any harm to anyone or his character and reputation.) that said: "what do you want me to tell your family?" Some of us have been bullied a lifetime. Consistently throughout. Words are, rather unsubstantial, and you are welcome to your opinions, but, so are we. Some of us are used to being required to defend ourselves or others at a far higher frequency and rate than most. I'll avoid violence, as much as i am allowed to by those that desire to harm others... But at this point, it's just another gas station parking lot, and another Tuesday that didnt need to be sad. So, maybe consider, like the rest of the world is for you and let us be, given we aren't harming anything? Because words may still harm those gathered here today to enjoy Brennans existing, and making a living doing his thing.
Fun crow fact for Brennan: Once I walked in town and I saw a crow deliberately aiming at someone's head with a rock in his beak. He missed but it was close. That crow was absolutely trying to hit the guy's head.
20:56 this bit always seemed a bit out of character - aka i can relate to him almost all the time but not here - because while people generally know what they like (and they arent changing it up, Grant) BUTTT you want to have all the information first to see if they have a specialty thing as like, an appetizer or if i can convince someone to split something with me
As a parent, my heart simultaneously swells and breaks at his mom's story of this little guy who wanted to get a muffin. His success is a testament to the impact of quality parenting, as unfortunately my kids are stuck with a dad who would barely restrain his rage (if not outright yell at strangers at a Dunkin Donuts "ARE YOU F'IN BLIND?! OR ARE YOU JUST AWFUL?") and then spend the whole ride to school trying to build them up by weaving a tapestry of profanity so intricate you could display it in the Art Institute of Chicago. I very rarely get angry at strangers, as I'm very large and learned that it's very frightening to many when I get angry, but if they're treating a bike lane like it's actually the double parking lane or being maliciously inconsiderate towards my kids, we might have some words.
Brennan talking about it being "Good B-Roll" is how I think about my life all the time, and I'm never filmed. When I think of situations, I always think of like, a non-existent camera "cutting" to another scene. Is that an autism thing?
48:42 Whenever I see this clip, I always imagine how Brennan could have thrown a curveball. Make the sound associated with "FOX"? My first thought would be to start ranting like: "And how exactly is 'diversity' a strength? You know the lying liberal media tries to-"
I can relate SO HARD to 8:21, being fascinated by the etymology of some mundane thing, and SEAMLESSLY transitioning from the disputed etymology of "chess pie" to the definition of "eggcorn"!
I absolutely LOVE 0:33 "You can't let people get away with being mean, and if that means you have to destroy their bodies until they're dead, then so be it." "Landon, you... you know we're recording this, right?" "I would hope so." As I become more frustrated with politics, I find myself leaning more in that direction. 😄😄
I absolutely adore the "when you find the best burger" bit because like, yes i have eaten at the same place every day for the last 4 years, it is cheap and good and on days where i cannot get it my whole day is ruined, i become a worse person to be around because part of the bedrock that makes up my schedule is disrupted.
the irony of this video being for autism awareness and not having subtitles is insane (mostly saying this as a joke, genuinely love and appreciate the comp!! Just thought it was funny)
