I wonder if you could help me find answers to the following: Thinking to lower the pressure tank and connect to the pump about 10' - 15' under the ground to eliminate the heating well house in the winter season. My pipe runs about 6' under the ground. 1) is it a good idea? 2) how to do it? 3) Should I install another pressure tank under the house in the crawl space? The well is about 30 yards away from the house.
I’m looking to use this product in one of my turf areas, does this device work similar to other add a zones? I've run into where it switches between the two zones on the run time. It makes it difficult when I’m running one zone with a rotor at 360 coverage and another with 180 coverage. Does this device keep the runtimes separated? Thanks
Hi! Seven years later and this video is still useful!! I know where to trim my lambs ear now. But one question. (Hopeful someone might answer) will the plant come back if you dead head it? Or will the plant die and only the seeds are what make it perennial
The plant is a perennial. It will come back every year regardless of whether you deadhead. Deadheading prevents the seeds from going everywhere in your garden as they are very invasive and will create small plants everywhere you may not want.
Ok this is a dumb question, but is there any way to turn on ALL stations at the same time? Or do they have to operate one zone at a time, and there's no other way?
i have the same sprinkler system, now my problem is that i got power on it but wont turn on.. i just recently replaced it and wont turn on again. No LCD display. any advice or tutorial to fix it?
I don't have a video on that yet, but will get one done this spring. You will need a multimeter to test the power inside the controller. You can watch this video, it will help. It's not exactly what you are looking for but has me testing the electrical system. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aZqp0U0Mn2s.html
Thanks for your video. I was hoping to see proof that at least some curb stop valves are equipped with a waste drain hole, so that there is no water pressure entering the house after the valve is fully closed. I understand that no ball valve seals perfectly forever. Concerning the valve that you are showing in the video, how many decades would you expect it to last before it either (1) fails to close fully, (2) fails to re-open fully, (3) leaks too much water into the house due to a poor seal after fully closing the valve, or (4) leaks too much water into the ground through the waste hole after fully re-opening the valve. I imagine that any one of these 4 failures would justify asking the city to dig up and replace the valve at their expense, even if it is buried 6 feet under the lawn, as in my case.
The valves we deal with usually last 10-20 years. Always install the best one you can since it's a big deal to replace them. See this video for the ways they fail and how you can tell. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jUZWUbLFRsU.html
If I understand you correctly, there is not a simple way. You will have to splice the wire from where you can find all the wires, then extend them to the area you need. That's the beauty of this product. Many times it is not feasible to run new wires.
I have an old copper irrigation system. what's the best and easiest way to rise the heads to the current grass level? The current heads don't even seem to be solder on the pipe.
I'm not sure of your exact situation would need to see some pictures. Try watching this video and see if it helps. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VUwyy0dWMbg.html
This was a helpful idea for a tight area where I tried flexing my pipe and didn't quite get enough grab. However, it looks like you are connecting two elbows. How is that possible since they should be the same size on each end? On the larger pipe it looks like you did use two pieces of straight pipe to connect the upper and lower elbows.
With the Hunter Roam remote. Is it possible to run a whole program or just a pick and choose Zone? So if I wanted the system to run through all zones at a non programed time. Can I just turn on P-A and it'll cycle through all zones? Or will it just start zone 1 and be done?
With the remote, I have not been able to have it cycle thru all the zones without pressing each one. Pretty sure it does not do this...But what you can do is hit the PRG button, on the screen it will show you how many minutes to run each zone, change the minutes you want with the plus or minus button. Then it will cycle thru all the zones in that Program.
@@AZIrrigationMaintenance I got it figured out. You have to have the dial on the controller turned to off. Then you can turn on the program from the remote and it'll run through all Zones. The dial cannot be on Run, it has to be on off for it to work. Thanks for the response.
Hey I definitely need help. So after I run it manually I ran station a and then I turned it off and now when I go back to manual it just says off and I can’t get it to run the next zone manually
I'd really need to see what you are doing. There is a possibility a that the controller is going bad or at least the dial. How old is it? An easier way to run zones manually is to hold down the Right Arrow with the dial on Run. It will automatically run thru your zones on the Program you have the controller set too and the time each zone you have it set to. You can do this, then skip to the next zone using the Right Arrow again. Hope that helps you.
I have mine set up on 10 mins for each zone and I use the method you described, RUN and press arrow key..it will run through all 5 zones and stop, BUT this morning of a sudden it's running by itself at night and then again at 6am.....how do I get it to stop running by itself?
Sounds like you might have some start times set up in different Programs. Turn the dial to Start Time, then start at Program A (use the PRG button on the top right), hit the Right Arrow until you go thru all the available start times, there are 4 available start times per Program. Next hit the PRG button and check Program B and then the Right Arrow to see all those start times. If you find ones you don't want, then use the Minus button and set them to OFF. You will be able to find the OFF setting at the midnight time. Good luck...
Just recently my hunter xcore has been coming on at night 5am, how do I stop this? I have my 6 zones set up to manual, I just come out twice a week and and select run and press the right arrow key....no schedule times etc....thanks
You will need to go check your other Programs using the PRG button on the top right and then turn the dial to the Start Times and check to see if some sort of random time is hidden in there. NOW one thing you need to remember is that a Start Time runs the ENTIRE Program then it will begin on the next Start Time. So you could possibly have multiple start times stacked and the controller is running ALL the zones for one start time, then it will run ALL the zones for the next start time and so on and so forth.
How do you bypass the rain sensor if you want the system to come on after it has recently rained heavily using the exact same orbit control box you have there?
Not sure of the exact problem without being there, but change the programs from A to B to C. Then check the run times and days to water for those different Programs. It's most likely that you have run times scheduled in different programs. The other issue that could be happening is you have scheduled multiple start times. Check the start times on the different programs too. Good luck.
Follow this link from Hunter. I't is the best description of what to do. www.hunterindustries.com/support/x-core-flashing-sprinkler-icon-no-zones-running
I have gone through 4 diaphragms within the last 3 months. i've cleared debris each time and ensured it was clean but it still breaks in the same spot. any ideas?
I'm not sure what you mean by it "breaks in the same spot". Make sure you are flushing the valve out really well. We have had one client that kept getting debris into their lines from the city supplied water on a regular basis. What we did was install a brass wye filter at the back flow, so the debris would be caught up in the filter and never get to the diaphragms. Hope that helps. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JvaQUjCkVWw.html This is a video I just posted about flushing valves out with a special tool, but you can do it without the tool.
