@ServerAcademy Hi, Instructor I don't know if you might be available for a brief call concerning your Udemy course promotion effectively Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks
I really appreciate this as I am in an AD DS Class for online Bachelors in cyber security and there is absolutely no direction and no instructions and I am new to this part of the IT world. So thank you for the videos and keep them coming.
Man what are you running? 480p? this is horrible and can't even read the text. Send me your venmo and I'll gift you money to run a better video capture device
When I create a user and do not give it admin rights I'm unable to login at all, even after adding them to a group I'm unable to login through that user The exact error is as follows "The sign-in method you are trying to use isn't allowed. For more info, Contact your administrator"
Hey just signed up for the full course two days ago to Sever Academy. Only finished two parts of it so far because I have been adding a DC server and Client machine then end up having to delete them because something went wrong. This IP address stuff is so hard for me. But hopefully I'll get it all with the full course.
Could you talk just about 1/2 as fast you are now talking? I'm totally new and this video is going by in a blur and I hate decreasing the video speed because it makes you sound like a junkie. You are not in a speed talking race. Please. For beginners. Thanks for doing all this stuff. Its' just a blur for me right now.
My server with active directory/domain controller crashed .. And I have to format it... Although all PC connected to the domain is working fine and both the administrator user name and password is also working fine... But am afraid so how do I remove the domain from each users PC and not loose their profile and software installed
I'm sorry. Instructor Paul should never let that guy Robert teach any of these classes. Robert does not teach coherently and smoothly like Instructor Paul does. I wish this whole video was only Instructor Paul.
Beware: The attribute userprincipalname should be followed with the full user principal name rather than the pre-Windwos 200 username Beware: the script is populating a mail address field but not creating the mail. For those who still use Exchange on premises, take note and run a script of similar complexity in the Exchange administrative console to create the mailboxes. For those who use Microsoft 365, the process is more tedious. Beware: the script has no error checking. While the case of two users with the same first name and last name is rare, it can happen. If so, no account will be created. In the real world, we want to catch the errors and fix them.
great tutorial! Is there any opportunity to get any 1:1 support? I would like to make a few modifications, but honestly, I'm not sure where to start, and my PowerShell knowledge is very beginner. Thanks
Oh man I love this video so thoughtful, actually I did learn it before in 2022 but in a high speed way but this video is awesome it brought back my memory just subscribed and hope to watch more as a systems admin in the Linux environment. Thanks a lot
when i do this on server 2019 i get the following error "Add operation failed unable to extract deployment information from the package..." ideas? (FIXED) I discovered the msi installers i was trying to use were not true msi packages to some degree. i had to specifically look for deployable msi from both firefox and 7zip. for the 7zip there is a section called windows 7 and another with no designation which i assumed were deployable. they were and was able to install to a vm computer as shown in the video
Hey so let’s say we have already done all this, right? But we had reset a computer? How do we reconnect that computer to the Active Directory and allow the user to use their credentials to sign in to the computer ??
The easiest way is to press Windows key + R to open a run box and type in: sysdm cpl (note, there should be a period in between sysdm and cpl; I can't put one because YT will delete my comment). Then join the computer to the domain as normal. Ideally, if you have a lot of PCs on your domain, you should have a re-imaging process where all computers have the same image that automatically joins the computer to the domain. It does take some work to set it up, but once you do it, it will save a lot of time down the road especially if you need re-image computers regularly.
